Re: 2018 Battle at the Beach Passing Tournament

As far as OC publics it looks like MV #1 and LH #2. Will SC keep it close? #2 possibly #3? Have not heard much about Ortiz's group this year.... Is the next team the better of the Sunset? #3 or #4 ? Anyone else up there? VP, Capo or Tesoro? SK80, your questions are all valid. If you're in the mood ...

Donray, VP has made it clear he doesn't have the time to school the professor. And yet every time the professor posts, VP immediately responds and tries to school him. Make sense now?

Re: Any more transfers to speak about?

I thought I would check back in after four days away to see how things are going, only to find that the claims continue to devolve into absurdity. For example, one expert wrote: ...he’s very small by Trinity League standards, and he doesn’t play with great speed for that level. If he struggles to pr...

Then it's odd that you follow virtually every one of the professor's posts trying to school him. Sounds like you're "not wasting your time" almost 24/7.

There are no more "bastions of purity". The Loyola varsity football team had five transfers last season.

Re: The Angry Left Is Turning Me Into A Trump Supporter

The previous 11 posts are a good indicator of what this forum would look like if conservatives stopped partiipating -- a completely self-righteous, uninteresting, non-funny, repetitive, boring snoozefest.

Think about it.

Professor Fate wrote:Someone was going to play each of those spots before the transfers were brought in. And now they won't get to. Period!

That's true of almost every transfer in every sport at every high school in the country. That makes it kind of a pointless truism, doesn't it?

Re: Any Catholic Kids Still Playing Football at Mater Dei or Bosco??

I agree, OutOfState. Domingo seems to imply that only white Catholic athletes who attended Catholic feeder schools and don't qualify for financial aid should be entitled to the starting positions on the Mater Dei football team, and black and Polynesian athletes upset that dynamic. What I don't under...

Re: New CIF Divisions

MDDad, I am sure you noticed MD will scrimmage FV. I don't get that one at all. FV is D8, how does that help MD? They are better off doing a intra-squad. FV is very small team. Everyone has touched on part of the reason. Yes, the series was started a few years ago as a favor to Fountain Valley head...

Re: New CIF Divisions

This issue has already been discussed and resolved on this forum. Bruce Rollinson and Dave White are good personal friends, and they had a personal agreement that they would play each other in the preseason for as long as they were both head coaches at their respective schools. When Dave White retir...

Re: 2018 Sunset League/DII/DIII

Bick, in the years before 2016 when entire leagues were assigned to divisions, the Pac-5 typically had 1 to 3 at-large spots, depending on which five leagues were in the division. Now that schools rather than leagues are assigned to divisions, the numbers will be much more subject to variation from ...

Re: 2018 Sunset League/DII/DIII

MDDad, that statement sounds like you want everyone in the trinity to get a participation trophy. That's not at all what I said, tony, so please stop trying to put words in my mouth. Bick said it's easier in the upper divisions. I disagreed. D-1 looks like it will have 15 auto-qualifiers. D-13 look...

I disagree, Bick. D-1 this fall looks to have 15 auto-qualifiers, leaving the bottom three Trinity League teams fighting it out for one at-large spot.

Re: 2018 Sunset League/DII/DIII

Edison is on the verge of a historic season. They enter 2018 with 20 Sunset League championships. If they win another this fall, they would tie Anaheim at 21 for the most titles in league history. Edison has also won 166 Sunset League games. If they win two more this fall, they will pass Anaheim's l...

Oh this is great! You're right MDDAD, 64% of the starters last year were either Black or Samoan. SIXTY-FOUR!! Is this Mater Dei or Long Beach Poly??? Many of the good citizens of Alabama were also upset when Bear Bryant allowed the first two black athletes to play for the Crimson Tide in 1971, beca...

I apologize for coming back, but blatant lies need to be pointed out. I promise this will be quick. Did I offend you with my comments about 90% of the starters at Mater Dei being either Black or Samoan? That is a lie. Eight starters (36%) were neither black nor "Samoan": Tommy Brown, Bubba...

JQP, with all due respect, the responses to my 9:41 AM post just reinforce my disillusionment with the state of the union here. Every thread seems to devolve quickly into the four killer bees taking turns beating the crap out of Professor Fate, hour after interminable hour. How long do you think he ...
