Mark and Brian, the end of an era.

Postby crayegg » Mon Aug 20, 2012 9:08 pm

I don't know about anybody else, but I've been listening to Mark and Brian since they first got here. I was well and truly listener number 43, among many. That was 25 years ago with Moschantz reading the news.

All done.

Crunch time for KLOS.

I haven't listened to them in years. Morning shows usually make my head hurt.

But, there's an alley by an apartment complex somewhere in that area where you're not sure if you're in SA, Tustin or Orange that the Thomas Guide had labeled "Mark and Brian Expressway" once upon a time. I'll see if I can find it and scan it if it ever crosses my mind again.

Bring back Howard Stern (my son has informed me he will return when his contract with XM expires)

Howard Stern and Don Imus should get a room with Hugh Hefner. Memory makers....maybe.

I agree....morning shows hurt ears....except Dan Patrick. Maybe I need Sirius.

I didn't listen, as I always found Brian to be a bit too juvinile for my tastes. I heard Mark was going to get a show with his wife. Anybody hear about that?

My sister forced me to listen to the best of once. It was where one of them put on a Depends went on public transportation and pinched a loaf. I wasn't amused.

KLOS, KMET and KROQ were the radio stations when I was in high school.
I sat in my car in the Naugles parking lot and listened to KMET sign off the air.

When Mark and Brian started on KLOS, I started listening to news and sports radio in the mornings.

When I got to Fort Bragg in the mid-1990's, everyone was listening to John Boy and Billy (a syndicated hillbilly version of Mark and Brian) or Howard Stern.

I stuck with news and sports.

Never understood the concept of taking 4 hours of an AOR station and filling it with chatter and d*ck jokes.

I LOVED KMET...Miss Doctor Demento...I still order Naugles items from Del Taco...Not the same...

Howard Stern is still my AM routine...Has been since he started at KLSX...

And the day of the morning zoo is slowly dying thank God...With Spotify, Pandora, Sirius/XM and Podcasts...It's nice having options...

Am I the only one who remembers when KLOS was KABC and 106.7 was KPCC and since none of them had playlists, to speak of, you were as likely to hear Mendelssohn as you were to hear Traffic, Led Zeppelin, Gil Scott-Heron or the Grateful Dead? Or all of the above in the same hour-long set?

What can I say? I'm old.

I don't recall that due to my age...But...I've listened to Jim Ladd since I was 10...The last free-form DJ in America...Now found on Sirius/XM

Yeah you are. It was KLOS before I was born, and I am 42.

Dayum! Nothing like rubbing it in! I think they changed it right around the time you were born. '69 or '70 or so.
