Servite Football vs. Yet Another State Champ?

Servite Football vs. Yet Another State Champ?

Postby Lionhunter » Thu Feb 21, 2013 11:31 pm

On another board, a poster names ColtFan90 is reporting that Servite will be playing the Utah 4A State Champion Timpview Thunderbirds. If true, I'm guessing it will be a Friar home game in week 1? Hopefully a home and home series? (out my way in 2014).

Let's see...

week 0 - Nevada State Champ Bishop Gorman
week 1 - Utah State Champ Timpview
week 2 - La Mirada
week 3 - Edison
week 4 - bye
week 5 - Cal State Champ DeLaSalle
week 6 - Mater Dei
week 7 - Santa Margarita
week 8 - Orange Lutheran
week 9 - J Serra
week 10 - St. John Lakewood

TT was rumored to have applied for the De La Salle Head Coaching job after hearing about the newly open position. I think its ridiculous that Servite puts up with TT. He really isn't as great of a coach as people think of him. Obviously after this horrific season, we learned the truth about TT's coaching skills. Look at the previous teams he had. DJ Shoemate, both Kalil's, Galippo, and many others were all on teams far superior than the 2009 State Champ team. TT couldn't even win with those teams, and he expects to beat these state champs with this team? I don't think so. And this is coming from a Servite Football Alum. Maybe its time to hang up the whistle and just stick to lifting at the local 24 hour fitness?

Alright, you need to calm down. TT is a very great coach and has just had a rebuilding year. He has many returning starters this year and his offensive line will be more mature and has one year of varsity ball under their belt. The players have been hitting the weightroom hard and have been doing daily speed drills. The Fightin' Friars are gonna come out strong next year and shock the world. Don't expect a state team, but this 2013 Friar team is gonna come out hard next year.

BoscoBand wago, Quit eating its affecting your brain. Nobody is leaving Servite and they do not need transfers. OGmudbone, if you are a servite football alum why were you not at the meeting last night? All your stupid rumors would have been put to rest. Last yrs team was mostly soph's with a fresh starting, the seniors did not step up at all. This yrs team will be one of the most talented teams servite has ever had,the following yr will be even better. TT is a great football coach and is more dedicated to his team than any other coach in trinity.

They will still be 3-7 or 4-6 at best so who cares?

Regretting that one? Thomas has always had his share of supporters/opposition in the program & out. But when schools pay the crazy salaries that has become common in Trinity League & elsewhere...you get people who chase the money.

This is an opportunity for everyone to make new decisions...we'll see where we go from here.
