Malaysia - 3:30 Sunday morning on NBCSN. I doubt I'll be up but I really want to hear the new lawn mower motors. I'm sure they're just as fast as they've ever been but there's nothing like the sound of a V-10 or V-12 at 18,000 RPM.

DVR is your friend, John.

Anyway, qualifying was interesting on full wet tires. Although with the 45 minute rain delay, my DVR cut out with two minutes left in Q3. I later learned Hamilton and Vettle were front row.

In the race Hamilton and Mercedes were untouchable with Rossberg second. Redbull has made impressive strides since winter testing but are definitely still trying to catch up with Mercedes.

Reliability has been key so far this season.

Still don't like the lawnmower sound. Even Bernie Ecclestone complained about the new sound of the engines.

Just finished watching free practice 2 in Bahrain. Not much surprising, Mercedes domination with everybody else scrambling.

The big news I heard was Gene Haas wants to go F1 racing and Bernie Ecclestone says he has Financing in place. We all know Stewart-Haas Racing in NASCAR, but F1 is a whole nother animal. Hundreds of millions in F1 rather than tens of millions to be competitive in NASCAR. I would love nothing better than to see a US team in F1, but I am spectal at this point.

Hey! I managed to catch the race today!

I think the new motors sound like buzzers. Sort of like yard horns with paddle shifters.

Was that an awesome race or what?

Yes, Hamilton and Rosberg finished 24 seconds in front of everybody else, but there was impressive wheel to wheel racing all day long.

Michael Schumacher is finally out of his coma:

BERLIN (AP) — Nearly six months after sustaining serious head injuries in a skiing accident, seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher left a French hospital on Monday and was transferred to neighboring Switzerland to continue his recovery.

Schumacher "is not in a coma anymore," his manager, Sabine Kehm, said in a brief statement announcing that the German driver had left the Grenoble University Hospital, where he had been treated since his accident Dec. 29.

Great news. That guy is one of the best F1 drivers, EVER.
