At least, conciliatory by Trump's standards

"Now it’s time for America to bind the wounds of division; have to get together. To all Republicans and Democrats and independents across this nation, I say it is time for us to come together as one united people."

Was enough to calm the world.

But then came the inauguration. He visited the Lincoln Memorial, held the Lincoln bible but there was no:

"With Malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right, as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation's wounds."
