The Oscars

Postby Hanna » Wed Jan 25, 2017 1:24 pm

We have not seen many movies this year. Some came and went and we missed them, like Loving and Florence Foster Jenkins. Hope that they will come again, after the nominations. Hidden Figures is still new. But we did see La La Land, and Jackie and Arrival and Zootopia (nominated for best animation) and A man called Ove - nominated for foreign movie - what a wonderful movie.

We liked La La Land and one knows it is a fantasy when drivers, stuck in LA traffic, get out of their cars and start singing and dancing. But I am not sure that it is the best movie or the best performances for the year.

But then, of course, I am no movie critic nor a member of the academy.

What, you don't do that?
Don't look at me, I just work here.

I liked Hell or High Water.

Florence Foster Jenkins was great. Meryl Streep delivers.
I'm not saying you're stupid. I'm saying you have bad luck when it comes to thinking.

They warned us if more Americans voted for Hillary Clinton we'd get historic corruption in Washington. They were right.
