MD at the Green Monster

Postby watchersince68 » Mon Nov 13, 2017 10:44 am

Poly has the home field advantage and they still have the athletes but I feel good that MD
will do well against the offense and defense. But no blowout predicted. Just don't look
to far ahead or pay the price.

Even thought MD is not home, this game doesn't feel like a road game as Vet Stadium is only 1/2 hour from MD, also on turf
If both teams play their best MD by 3 touchdowns

The Vet is a good place to watch high school football. Road game for MD, but they better get used to it because even if they win they'll be on the road again next week for the semis.

How do you know MD will be on the road in the semis? Coin flips?

Has a flip already been made for the semi's?

I pray it is MD vs MV, even at MV, I see MD as at least 21 points, MV barely got by Servite, NO way MV keeps up with MD

Yes. Mater Dei lost the coin flips with both Mission Viejo and Orange Lutheran, so they will be on the road against either opponent.

I'm cautiously fearful that this is a trap game for MD.

Mater Dei has been suspect to big plays the few times I watched them, and that's a general specialty of Poly's. I can't say that MD would win the game off of discipline either with all of their penalty issues this year.

I think they'll prevail, but really good MD teams have had issues in the second round of the playoffs.

MD by 35 over MV won't even be close should have lost to Servite.

The SM game was supposed to be the "trap game" for MD and they laid 70 on SM
At this point there aren't any "trap games" because you either win or it's over
Poly may win but it won't be because MD was looking ahead, it will be because Poly can PLAY, their QB is the real deal and
Poly has guys who can fly!!!

This game will be closer than most think but in the end it’s the Jimmy’s and Joe’s not the X and the O’s

Will be a great game...a classic of old.

Those who claim Servite should have won are fooling them selves...Best team won, MV had 100 yards more in penalties and scored more points...Servite lost the game because they did not score more points PERIOD, you have to win the games that count...

Mater Dei will bring it...So will Poly...HUGE history and respect between our squads...Monarchs should win, but it will not be a blowout...The Jackrabbits have nothing to lose...

PTG
Servite was ahead with seconds left, a shank would have change history. Mission should be ashamed and Servite lauded.

Very insightful. How about talking about the scheme each team will run, player match ups, does and don`t, whats LBP best chance to pull the upset...yada..yada...yada

You take the uniforms off these players, line them up in a straight line and you wouldn't be able to tell which kid went to what school. My how times have changed. Wasn't the case in the classic 90's battles for CIF Championships vs. Poly. Back then it was true Mater Dei kids representing our school. Catholic boys. Today, I'm curious, which team has more black starters? Which team has more Samoan starters? Does Poly have more Catholic players than Mater Dei? Mater Dei by at least 4 TD's in a game that is over by halftime. The only question most of the Catholic Mater Dei families at the game in the stands will be asking themselves is "how many points do we need to be up by in order for my boy to get into the game?"

The tainted season continues.
