MV will win the king of hold backs by 10 could change if Lavell doesn't play with foot injury.

The next few weeks could present MV with a unique playoff opportunity. Last Friday they beat Servite and this Friday they get OLU. Should MD somehow get by Poly and MV wins as expected they ( MV ) will host the semis. Home field advantage for an OC 1 versus 2 match-up. With Johnson's last year as motivation his kids could put MV in the finals. On the other side of the bracket it's reasonable to forecast Bosco as their opponent. So, a MV win there would give them a CIF championship AND a mythical Trinity league title. Now that would be something for Bob to go out with....

I have a neighbor who had 2 boys play football at MD, he claims that MV has an agriculture program ( a sort of farm ) specialty program that allows them to "open their enrollment" within the district to all comers, if kids from outside the normal enrollment area want to attend MV.
Any truth to that? he claims football players on the MV team that do not live in their attendance area are on the team because of this "farm" program?
He claims that 3 kids a couple of years ago from Trabuco Hills played for MV, and these inter district transfers have happened for years taking advantage of the farm program
Just asking

Gosh none of that could actually be true could it? Johnson sure seems like such a nice guy. Must be talking about Mission Hills.

Mission Viejo has open district enrollment...They don't need the farm program any more...If you're a Football stud you go to MV...No rules are broken...No different than LB Poly...Should be interesting to see how the Diablos fair after BJ leaves the building...

PS...This game could go any way...It's come down to who has the ball last...I think MV in a close game a la Servite

Playthegame, I have an answer for your question but I may be wrong. Im going to say Chase Peterson. Even though he left for Tesoro, he was at MV for his first two years (though he was zoned for Capo Valley).

Mission by at least 14. The Servite team that gave MV so much trouble, did so because of the extra threat McDuffie and Leuta Ulu posed at RB. They didn't have that when they beat O Lu by a point (though Rice did well). Had Servite gotten by MV, they would have beaten O Lu by 14 (IMHO).
Things under Obama got a lot worse before they started to get better – and they only started to get better after the GOP took over half of Congress and put the brakes on spending.

if MV has open enrollment, then why do people complain about MD or any of the privates getting kids from anywhere?
How does open enrollment differ from no attendance area restriction?
So all the guys that go to MD could of enrolled at MV? Did MD just do a better job of convincing the parents?
In fact MV should have the upper hand with NO TUTION of $1,200 a month!

Open enrollment in the district not open enrollment from 3 counties. They also have 2 catholic schools within 7 or 8 miles and the whole Trinity league minus SJB within 25 miles.
None of the good football players are paying 1200.00 a month .

There is no difference. MV has been pulling kids from all over, same as the private schools. And until recently, the only notable difference was that they were pulling from league rivals. Getting stronger while simultaneously weakening their main competition, making their league games a joke.

Now Trinity teams are playing the same game and it’s getting the same results. Bosco and MD are feeding off of the rest of the league and the games are uninteresting. 60+ points in a league game, even if it’s the strongest league in the nation, is a bad look.

“So all the guys that go to MD could of enrolled at MV? Did MD just do a better job of convincing the parents?”.

The answer to that is yes.

Yelled lived in Coto during the time he was at Bosco. Then made the required change of residence to Dove Canyon which is not only in the district but in MV's attendance area. No district transfer even needed let alone the ag bs. I believe his original home was also in MV's district. He is certainly not coming from the IE or LA County.

Maybe or they couldn't move to MV''s attendance area which is expensive. They can live in LA County Riverside County or wherever else. That does make a difference and makes it much easier. To say not having any attendance boundries is the same as having to move into a district that is very expensive is just not true.

MD tuition is 1600.00 a month for non-Catholic students and 1450.00 a month for Catholic. The majority of the football players that see the field don't pay anything close to that amount. The poor suckers who stand on the sidelines in football and ride the bench in Basketball pay full tuition.

Pulling for Poly this week to take down the evil empire.
