Re: What California QB is more accomplished than Bryce Young?

The California high schools that can claim a "national championship" in football by being named #1 by at least one national poll are: 1916 - San Diego 1954 - Vallejo 1955 - San Diego 1957 - Downey 1966 - El Rancho 1975 - Loyola 1987 - Fontana 1994 - De La Salle & Mater Dei 1996 - Mater Dei 1998 - De...

Re: Mater Dei vs. St. John Bosco V

Nobody here knows the real policies or facts other than the kid was apparently turned down by MD before he signed with Bosco. As far as I remember there was no official announcement as to the reason why so everything else is just hearsay and speculation. The only guy who might know the real facts b...

Re: Mater Dei vs. St. John Bosco V

Depends what you mean by National Champions. There are at least half a dozen nationally recognized ranking services...the only year BG was consensus #1 was 2016. There are seven generally recognized national polls. Hopefully to prevent this constant speculating, here are the "national champions" si...

Re: Mater Dei vs. St. John Bosco V

I feel I can sum up 2 major turning points in MD's return to National prominence, a national powerhouse again, this one I've mentioned already obviously, Rollo blowing up the program after the 2011 season, a huge offseason after the 2011 season ended, Rollo made a huge overhaul, revamp of the progr...

Re: D-3 Football and Orange County

Hey Omar, yes, no transfers and all home grown talent and yes all these boys live in “Cdm boundaries”. Fortunately and “unfortunately” its financially not possible for families to move to Cdm for sports! Imagine that! In the interests of accuracy: In the last three school years, according to the CI...

Re: Marina Football

Congratulations to the Vikings as well, but what really paid of rather quickly for them is moving from Division 1 to Division 11 in the last few years. Marina made the Division 1 semifinals in 1981, 83, 84 and 85. That was a much more impressive accomplishment, and it was the height of the school's ...

Re: Evaluating (Mythical) National Title Contenders

Whether people want to "recognize" them or not, St. John Bosco has a legitimate claim to a 2013 national championship: Bosco was named #1 in two of the seven major polls: Calpreps and Massey Ratings Booker T. Washington was named by four polls: Maxpreps, Prep Force, USA Today and Prep Nation Allen T...

Re: Servite at Mission

I don't really care about this Terry Bullock suspension issue, but people deserve to know the truth. The suspension is a sham. "Suspending" him allowed Bosco to look surprised, outraged and righteous in their indignation at what he supposedly did. The truth is that a couple days after he was suspend...

Re: Next Year's Mater Dei and Bosco QBs?

Thanks for the info, and while I won’t take the time to produce Money’s 30 year record of prepping college bound QB’s, I can tell you with great certainty that it is a more accomplished list that contains 1 Heisman winner, National Champion and 2 Heisman finalists as well as a holders many past and...

Re: Can De La Salle get their swagger back?

I hate to introduce facts into a thread that's all about oneupmanship, but sometimes I can't help myself. In the last 15 years, Mater Dei has had exactly seven players from the Long Beach area: WR/DB Andrew Abbott LB Kessler Armbruster DB Xavier Bell (who moved to Long Beach from Costa Mesa) WR C.J....

Cruiser, thanks for posting that breakdown. I hope it helps to dispel some myths. Also probably surprising to most people is where the school's football players come from. For the 2019 team: 16 - Santa Ana 11 - Newport Beach 8 - Irvine 7 - Costa Mesa 6 - Huntington Beach 5 - Anaheim 5 - Orange All o...

Re: Servite's Larry Toner finally retires...

Daddyooo, that sounds about right.

And when WantTheNFLBack714 says, "Very few MD students are Santa Ana residents", he is 100% wrong. Every year since the school opened, it has had more students from Santa Ana than from any other city. The same is true of the football team.

Much like the thread about Elias Ricks, this one has been populated largely by people who don’t know what they’re talking about. Only Al Koholik and Kingspeed have any firsthand experience with Coach Rollinson, Scot Prohaska and the Mater Dei sports environment, one because he was an assistant varsi...

When it comes to Elias Ricks, nobody on this thread knows what they're talking about or what is really going on. So all this speculation is pretty pathetic, and maybe you should all just give it a rest.

Speaking of trains...have you read anywhere but Fox and right leaning outlets about some new congresswoman going on record saying she'd be running train with her progressive agenda? Me neither. Apparently, only right-wing pundits are having a problem with this. Sorry, I don't read or listen to Fox ...
