Re: Transfer News? It’s that time of year again!

Md just got the self proclaimed best player in PA. Kid is a freakin stud per his hudl highlites. As usual, Mater Dei gets a transfer and everyone overreacts with hyperbole and indignation. Brinkley is a 2-star kid (Rivals and 247Sports) with 12 scholarship offers, all from second-tier schools. The ...

Re: Transfer News? It’s that time of year again!

That is preferable indeed. I am not a CIF rules guru but I know some Summer transfers need to sit out 5 games. But I think whether or not there was a change of address impacts this. I'm sure others here can better answer this. It's been explained several times before, but here it is again. First, i...

However, the other schools in the league aren’t doing what MD/Bosco are doing tuition and academically to get athletes
With all due respect, that sentence proves you are absolutely clueless about what is going on in this league.

Re: Transfer News? It’s that time of year again!

Correct. Negro has never started a transfer *qb The only qb (asterisk) to transfer was Quetin Davis. As a 7th and 8th grader he was on the Bosco 4 vertical team being coached by Chad Johnson. Kid wanted to stay at Bosco but dad knew Bosco had Josh Rosen 1 grade ahead of his son, so he took him to M...

He has two more years, and we'll get to find out.
Quincy Craig has two more years as well, but I wouldn't put him in the conversation of the three or four greatest running backs in county history. Doing so, as with T-Mac, is just pure homerism.

Re: Trinity league basketball

Gary McKnight has won well over 1,000 games in 35 years, along with a gazillion CIF and state championships. You don't do that unless you get incredible talent, or you're an outstanding coach. The problem in this thread is that critics are talking out of both sides of their mouth. Out of one side th...

Re: Orange County Football Signing

I agree with Kupp. T-Mac has 65 catches for 850 yards and 12 TD's IN HIS CAREE R . That probably doesn't put him in the top 200 of Orange County receivers. In a conversation about potential , he may be the #1 guy. But on a list of all-time great county receivers based on what they accomplished, to m...

Tobey is the guy. He’s an underrated player.
With those eight words, and his comments about Noah Fifita, Domingo proved beyond any reasonable doubt that he knows nothing, NOTHING, about Mater Dei or high school football.

Did you like "Hillbilly Elegy"? It sounds depressing but it sounds like one I should read. My people and all.

Shifty, you are very ambitious. I set my annual goal at 20, and I usually have to hump like crazy in the last three months to get there. My favorites of the past two or three years: Fiction "All The Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr "Where The Crawdads Sing" by Delia Owens "The Nightingale" by K...

Re: Transfer News? It’s that time of year again!

Then make the argument. In the last two seasons, Mater Dei has lost: Darion Green-Warren - DB, Narbonne Elias Ricks - DB, IMG Zion Alefosio - DB, Villa Park Zeus Alefosio - LB, Villa Park Syrr Barnes - DL, Mission Viejo Zamajay Duncan - DB, JSerra Carter Freedland - QB, Corona Centennial Jaden Geno...

I guess it can still be said, John Huarte is the MD QB that had the most NFL success.
Absolutely untrue.

Matt Leinart threw for 4,065 yards and 15 TD's in 33 games.
Matt Barkley has thrown for 2,502 yards and 10 TD's in 14 games.
John Huarte threw for only 230 yards and 1 TD in 24 games.

Matt Barkley has pretty much been a journeyman QB in the NFL, I wonder if his NFL career will last well into his 30's decade.
Matt Barkley makes $1.5 million a year holding a clipboard. How much do you make?

Re: Bosco Unanimous #1 National Champions

Too easy.

2011 - Don Bosco Prep, 11-0
2016 - Bishop Gorman, 15-0
2017 - Mater Dei, 15-0

And I actually think those were the only three undefeated, unanimous national champions in the last 20 years.

Re: Bosco Unanimous #1 National Champions

National championships, whether won on the field or in the polls, are won AFTER the last game of the season has been played. Period. If there were Mater Dei fans last year or St. John Bosco fans this year who proclaimed their "championships" before those last games were in the books, they were just ...

For what it's worth, J.T. Daniels played in 14 games in 2016 when he set the old record of 67 TD passes. In nine of those games, he played only the first half and one series in the third quarter.

The California high schools that can claim a "national championship" in football by being named #1 by at least one national poll are: 1916 - San Diego 1954 - Vallejo 1955 - San Diego 1957 - Downey 1966 - El Rancho 1975 - Loyola 1987 - Fontana 1994 - De La Salle & Mater Dei 1996 - Mater Dei 1998 - De...
