Re: UNI HS getting new football stadium

:-k While I know that fairness and accuracy have gone out the window in these days of cable "news", let's be fair and accurate here. re: I think there was somebody on this board earlier saying that they were waiting to see how University reacted to having a stadium on their campus that they share wi...

Re: UNI claims new stadium as “Our House”

Lance: How about some pictures? Tommy: I truly wish Coach Sumner and the CdM athletic community lots of luck with their CdM Stadium proposal. Just wait until the "Community Activists" come out of the woodwork with their cries of "TRAFFIC!", "NOISE!", "LIGHTS SHINING INTO OUR BABIES' BEDRO...

Re: UNI claims new stadium as “Our House”

Oh...and Unidad, you should probably wait until you see how Uni reacts to having a stadium on their own campus before casting stones. Golf tournaments with silver cups are nice, but that's just the summer. Lets see what happens during the school year when needs are real and stress is high. Indeed. ...

Re: UNI claims new stadium as “Our House”

If Mark Cunningham ever gets his name on this stadium it will be the day after Terry Henigan gets his name on the one at Irvine High. Or at least that's the way it should be. While I agree that putting Coach Henigan's name on the IUSD stadium at Irvine High would certainly be appropriate and I know...

Re: UNI claims new stadium as “Our House”

Apology accepted, IrvDad. :) However, when I wrote about Irvine High's attitude about the stadium I knew that folks from Irvine High would not really understand. It's not about "game day". That was never really a problem. The problems arose when there was a SCHOOL DISTRICT need for the stadium and I...

Re: UNI claims new stadium as “Our House”

I'm surprised especially why each Irvine HS did not have their own FB stadium in an affluent area, with a school district that in most cases has the funds to do it. Seriously? You do realize that... 1.) Up until this point, FOUR Irvine high schools (University, Woodbridge, Irvine, and Northwood) al...

Re: New UNI Stadium

Not sure when it had its last winning season. :iknow: 2007 Uni finished the season 10-1 after losing in the second round of the playoffs to Kennedy. The Uni - Laguna Hills game was cancelled that year because of heavy smoke from brush fires. Uni and Laguna Hills ended up tied for the PCL Championsh...

Re: New UNI Stadium

\:D/ Hot Dang! Calpreps is updated for 2013 and I just saw that our Bye Week coincides with Uni's home game vs. Woodbridge. I'll get to see a game at Uni's new stadium this season! It's a long drive, but I'm going to do everything I can to get down to Irvine to catch this one. On a side note, I see ...

Re: New UNI Stadium

But, won't you miss those Saturday games now that you don't share with 3 other schools? And that old, beat up turf? Certainly you are going to miss that! Since I'm currently up here on the stunningly beautiful Central Coast, there are a few things that I miss about Irvine/Uni. However, Thursday or ...

Re: New UNI Stadium

Congratulations to Coach Cunningham and the entire University High School community for FINALLY making the stadium a reality! =D>

It will be seriously disorienting when I have the opportunity to attend my first football game at the new, on-campus stadium.

GO TROJANS!

If you had attended Irvine schools, you'd know that South Korea is not an island, small or otherwise!

Re: So, what is deal with lineman and growing beards?

As you know Lance, some big guys also have big hearts to match!

I know one Big Guy at Uni who I would be proud to have show up at my door to pick up my daughter (if I had one) for a date.

Re: Bouncebacks

What were the reasons for the bounce backs? All the whoopla over getting recruited and getting that coveted and very elusive full ride, D1 at that, and back in one semester? Just happens far too often with OC kids. From a recent post of mine in the "STARS OF THE FUTURE" thread: Okay, another county...

Re: The best high schools in Orange County

Just out of interest, where does a high school Arts student go after high school and what professions? :iknow: Turn on your TV. You'll see them there. Turn on your radio. You'll hear them there. Go to a movie. You'll see and hear them there. Turn on your iPod. You'll hear them there. Go to a Broadw...

Re: STARS OF THE FUTURE

I am not sure what the deal is with the smily guy cool face next to Emery Sefo . I did not put it there or I can not find it anywhere in the smilies faces ?? I tried to edit it and take it down three times but it isn't going anywhere . I guess someone from the admin board really likes the guy or so...

The 5 things you must do 4) You need to contact 50-100 (or more) realistic programs! This info is from NCSA and is not from me just wanted to pass it on to any that thought it might help and see what eveyones opinion on NCSA is. :-k Okay, another county heard from (literally)... Re: How do you handle recruiters?

I don't think that you can overemphasize #8. 8. Important question for your daughter to answer. If I get hurt and can no longer compete, is this the institution I want to be at and get my degree? +1 As the father of two boys who were widely recruited by Division I FCS (I-AA) schools, received multi...

Re: What does a "commit" actually mean

I think semantics are in play here, and that yiu have read or maybe experinced the process a few times and I was on the opposite end of the process. i can say i never allowed kid to be hanging on signing day. Hit the Dockside for me today, I have a place in Baywood Park and a few lunches during the...

Re: What does a "commit" actually mean

I think your numbers are off a bit and the whole commit thing is not as bad a you are trying to portray it. Keep in mind we really do not know since the coach can not comment on it. The info we see on websites and so is all second hand information. Coaches can be ruthless with the NLI though, espec...

Re: What does a "commit" actually mean

As for de-commits, often a coach has told the kid he will end up not recieving a NLI from the school he committed to for a varity of reasons and the student-recruit should look for another school. Remember, the coach can not comment publicly on the student-recruit that is why you only hear one side...
