Re: RBG - SCOTUS

It's an indication of how times have changed for Supreme Court nominees. I don't think a former ACLU lawyer would be nominated by anyone today because there would be too much of an ideological paper trail left behind that would make it difficult to be voted in by the Senate. Hugo Black was a Supreme...

Re: Mission Viejo vs. Bishop Amat @Kiefer Stadium

This will be a good game. I was surprised by Mission Viejo's loss to San Clemente and Bishop Amat did not look all that great against Alemany recently. But Mission has the better quarterback and some awfully good receivers and that defensive speed. Amat took JSerra to the final seconds and they are ...

Re: JSerra stadium question

I have some question for anyone who has been to JSerra's Stadium. How is parking adequate? If you get there just before game time is there still parking? Are there backs on the seats or are they just bleachers? Any other information that would be handy. thanks ahead of time. It's not. Yes, but it'l...

Yes, and many of those are the same people here who whine nonstop about transfers day in and day out...sound familiar? Sure does. There are guys over on the other side of the board who whine nonstop 2.26 times per day or more about " The inevitable disaster that will be the Trump administratio...

Re: Bosco vs Mater Dei

There is not one chance in hell JSerra will beat Mater Dei. The talent discrepancy is overwhelming with all the kids MD has brought in over the last few years. I don't expect it to be competitive and could have been mailed in before the season started. The final four are going to be MD, Bosco, Cente...

Re: Bosco vs Mater Dei

After seeing the televised game of JSerra vs Bosco I really expected Mater Dei to take this game. I’m not all that surprised that Bosco beat them but I would never have expected them to manhandle MD so badly. Chris King did an outstanding job with the Bosco defense. MD could not run or adequately pa...

Re: Bosco Upset Alert

I like to feel that Bosco overlooked or underestimated JSerra a lot, they didn't get serious about them until the 4th quarter. Seriously ? They were playing their first difficult opponent, a team that was 5–0 against five other teams that otherwise are now 23–2, and themselves ranked sixth national...

Re: Trinity League predictions

I don't think that's it. In previous years when Servite and Mission Viejo (or SM or OL) were doing well, there was still competition. They didn't blow through the league year after year and it was never a foregone conclusion for either Servite or Mission Viejo. There was always a decent chance someo...

Re: Trinity League predictions

Has it come to this? Who will win those highly coveted third and forth finishes in the Trinity league? This topic is one of the most anticipated and riveting I have encountered since I found an old debate over who was likely to win the Battle of Hiroshima. The Trinity League has been a two horse con...

Re: Myth of Robert E. Lee

I thought about that, too.
Even though in some respects it was a sort of no-brainer, the battle was still conducted flawlessly.
That’s in contrast to some of the Civil War generals who could retrieve defeat from victory.

Re: Myth of Robert E. Lee

His actions don't support his statements.....Wabash No, they don't. But that's not the point being debated, had you been paying attention. The point is that he was despite your asertions morally opposed to slavery, even while he did nothing to stop it. It does appear hypocritical, but like many if ...

Re: Myth of Robert E. Lee

Jesus Christ, Wabash, he DID state he was opposed on moral grounds to slavery. It's even quoted above. That is the whole fornicating point of this absurd sidebar. Do you even read these posts before typing? Do you know anything about the Civil War?..........Luca

Re: Myth of Robert E. Lee

[Wabash, in the aristocratic circles of Southern society to which Robert E Lee belonged in the antebellum South (to say nothing of during the Civil War itself), expressing a moral opposition to slavery would not serve to "maintain his position." Quite the opposite, for obvious reasons. How...

Re: Myth of Robert E. Lee

So he could maintain his position in the social order. That matters to people in those types of circles. I see. Well.......as to whether or not I am going to find a reasonable intellectual justification for an opposing perspective in this case, I have my answer. Wabash, in the aristocratic circles ...

Re: Myth of Robert E. Lee

Dad, it's not as though I expect any acknowledgment of a point well made, I'm just curious to see if I can identify an intellectual justification for an opposing position. There is an old saying that " I would never die for my beliefs, because I might be wrong." Anyway.... No, Wabash. It w...
