Re: Congrats Costa Mesa HS!

Football needs a little more Admin support than winters sports. The number of athletes, the cost of running the program, the number of assistant coaches needed and probably five more things. A little different animal.

Re: The Next Saint John Bosco Quarterback

It may also help them academically if they can enter as a freshman taking higher level math and science classes. If you were going to be a regular college prep student, taking another year in 8th grade with higher level 8th grade classes, you might be able to take Honors classes in HS.

Re: The Next Saint John Bosco Quarterback

Being held back has nothing to do with flunking. Many good student athletes do it for athletic advantage.

Re: Chad Johnson to SMCHS?

I'm not saying the Ag program isn't an avenue for some but 50? Be realistic! Maybe 2 or 3. The Ag program is a 4 year commitment. Most FB players are not real excited to be in the Ag program for 4 years.

Re: Chad Johnson to SMCHS?

Sucks, Fisher was a good coach and everyone is right if you don't go out and get in this dirty mess of trying to bring kids in you have no chance. I heard Coach Johnson is going to interview with Hartigan out of respect, apparently C.J. played for Hartigan.(I did not know that)...Anyway, word is Jo...

AJ Duffy should be considered in this conversation. He led Rancho Verde to the division 2 finals as a freshman.

Re: San Clemente vs Mission Viejo prediction

Can we stop with the "one team one town" bs. #1 was at Tesoro and lives in Ladera. Costello started at SM then had a cup of coffee at MV and then went to SC.

Re: JV/Frosh scores

Yellen lived in Coto when he attended Bosco. Moved to Dove to have a legit address change for transferring to MV. Has since moved back to Coto but is still eligible to play at MV. It must be nice to have that kind of Money!

Re: JV/Frosh scores

Well how about this. They need to keep all the kids in the Saddleback Valley school district to be able to have continued success. Remember they have the Trinity schools all within maybe 35 miles. JS and SM both within 10 miles. They also have a solid Tesoro program in their school district. Capo V...

Re: Will a Public HS Ever Win a D1 Football Title Again?

None of the schools are full. They are all down in enrollment. THHS is under 3,000 students for the second year in a row. It had been over 3,000 for the previous 10+ years.

Re: Will a Public HS Ever Win a D1 Football Title Again?

Just to add one other point here about inter district transfers that me and Tommy T have exchanged PMs about ( names so he could ask them about their situation compared to his own) were teachers at MV who lived in the Trabuco attendance area and could not get their children enrolled at Mission even...

Re: Will a Public HS Ever Win a D1 Football Title Again?

The only way it’s harder to move between districts is if the originating district will not sign off on an intra-district transfer. Nearly all of them sign off with little to no fan fare. In all fairness, I have no idea how those districts operate. In terms of Tesoro and SJH, are they not way, way o...

I heard he was born two years earlier than the rest of his age group How is 19 1/2 two years older? My son is a January birthday and will be 18 1/2 when he graduates. He was never held back. He went to school with everyone else who was born his year. If I held him back once then he would be just li...

Re: CIF ~ "A Message From The Commissioner" ~ {Transfers}

My point was that it isn't pretty much a private division. If it was a private division one of the two publics would be a CIF champ and one wouldn't. It is pretty much a two team division.

I believe the Semi Finals last year in Div. 1 was two privates and two publics. Not really their own division. Those publics in another division equals CIF champs.
