Re: A world without sports

Many teams are having online meetings to discuss schemes and training progress as well.

Re: A world without sports

Most of the kids are working out every day. We normally come off a 3 week break, do 3 days of conditioning, and then put the pads on. That's the normal way of doing things. We have an intra-squad scrimmage the second Saturday, scrimmage the third, and game time on the fourth Saturday.

Re: A world without sports

Why do you need a month before pads? 3 days conditioning is the norm for fall camp.

Re: A world without sports

As long as they give the go ahead by August 1 or so, High School Football will be fine. They did it like that for many years and still do in some states and areas. I suggest, and it's not my original idea, that we start school and football after Labor Day like the old days for at least one year. I p...

Re: 2020 Football Schedules

I think the teams that will be ahead will be the one's with the best coaching staffs and most talent. The one's that do not adapt and complain and make excuses will fail. The might be some glaring differences.

Re: 2020 Football Schedules

This is what I was trying to say earlier. Let's give some time before we start throwing dirt on the season or parts of the season. We could also push the start of football and/or the start of school to where it used to be after Labor Day. I'm not worried about conditioning as much, as I have seen ma...

Re: 2020 Football Schedules

I have a very negative view of Coach White so it's hard for me to hear him. That's my problem.

Re: 2020 Football Schedules

I have never heard a coach say I wish we had more spring or summer practice to prepare. I still think there is a chance we are back to a fairly normal existence by August. I could be wrong.

Re: 2020 Football Schedules

Coach Anthony White @CoachAWhite What I believe and propose will happen... If no green light by July 1st. What does Coach White have to do with any of this? I believe we should prepare for the season as though we will have a full season. We owe it to the seniors to work hard in what ever capacity w...

Got to give it to Poly. They'll play anybody even though they are well past their prime.

Re: Orange County Football Signing

A 6'4" Running Back? Hurtado at Cypress is the tallest back I've seen at about 6'2". 6'4" is huge for a RB although I'm sure he is being recruited as a OLB at that size.

Re: Super Conferences

They aren't 12 team leagues. They are 12 team conference where 6 are up and 6 are down and play 5 games in league with the top 3 being automatic qualifiers.

Re: Super Conferences

I agree with that last part. That's why CIF Championships have less value. The players and student body have no idea who they are playing so it carries far less weight. Maybe 6 team leagues make more sense, at least in a two year cycle. I liked regional championships better. Orange County should be ...

Re: Super Conferences

Yes NB should be HB. I'm sure I made several mistakes. A lot of schools could be changed but I think the idea is solid. It's always hard to place Cypress and the Tustin schools for some reason.

Super Conferences

Why don't we just create a few super conferences with promotion and relegation like the South Coast/Seaview Conference? Aliso-CV-DH-SJH-SC-Tesoro-ET-LH-MV-TH (10) Ful-SH-Troy-BP-LH-Son-BO-ED-Val-Esp-YL-Cyp (12) GG-Pac-RA-Sant-BG-LQ-Los-Ana-Kat-Ken-West-Mag (12) Edi-NB-Mar-OV-Westy-FV-LA-CDM-Est-NH-C...

Re: D-3 Football and Orange County

Grootegoed comparisons are a stretch for almost anyone considering he is probably the greatest high school football player in Orange County history. It's not so much about being around the ball or even making plays that gets a player recruited. What are his grades? How tall is he? How fast is he? Wh...

Re: Regional & State

State Championships are meaningless except the open division. A lot of coaches do not even want to play them. 14 games is enough. If you want to add a public school championship too, that's fine. There's no reason to play lower division state championships.

Re: CIF/ Releaguing 2020...

We should develop more conferences but make them 12 teams as often as possible. Use the South Coast/Seaview conference as a model. We already have relegation and promotion in CIF divisions. We might as well have it in league designations as well.

Hey Omar

Can you fetch me the Calpreps or whatever you seem to use prediction and take on the Bosco/DLS game?
SJB 42 DLS 24 according to Calpreps.
