Re: Transfer News? It’s that time of year again!

Brayden Zermeno is on the move again. He left Mission Viejo for Loyola. It became real obvious no matter what he did on the field at Mission he was not going to get a shot over Chad Johnson's boy. One QB comes into MV and the two that were there were sent packing.

Re: 2011 Santa Margarita Eagles - Last Legitimate D1/Pac5 Champion?

Mission Viejo has more junior and senior transfers this year than MD and the quarterback's Dad has not stopped recruiting. He is still calling the parents of SM players. Nenad was just his latest success.

Re: 2011 Santa Margarita Eagles - Last Legitimate D1/Pac5 Champion?

The majority of the pay for play schools will be playing in the CIF Division of 8 teams this season. It was actually a smart move by CIF to group those eight together. Let the IMG schools compete against each other leaving Division 2 for the true high school championship. The next move should be to ...

Re: Transfer News? It’s that time of year again!

The two brothers from Bakersfield that came to SM at the start of the summer have returned to Bakersfield. It was going to be next to impossible for the senior to meet the SM graduation requirements in one year coming from a public school so they both returned home.

Re: Orange Lutheran baseball season ends on a heartbreaker

No doubt OLu had a deep pitching staff this year but not all teenage boys handle pressure of do or die playoff games equally. If you have a kid getting outs and his pitch count it is not an issue it's best to stick with him. The more pitchers you use the odds increase of one of them having an off da...

Re: Orange Lutheran baseball season ends on a heartbreaker

High school Baseball playoffs is all about your starting pitchers. When Santa Margarita won the CIF playoffs a few years back they had Griffin Canning and Dillion Miyashiro dominating on the mound and received timing hitting from their offense. OLu had their ace cruising through 4 innings after givi...

Re: Burt Call - Villa Park baseball

it will be difficult for MD to move up much in the Trinity League next year. OLu's two best starting pitchers that dominated the league are both juniors. SM's starting lineup consisted of 8 underclassmen. They also have a sophomore pitcher that has committed to UCLA that didn't pitch a varsity innin...

Re: Burt Call - Villa Park baseball

Mater Dei is currently 4-8 in league play and they haven't played OLu yet. After three games this week against OLu there is a real good chance they finish 4-11. I would not exactly call that a "great job."

Re: Burt Call - Villa Park baseball

Congratulations to an outstanding man and Coach. As he was leading Villa Park to the top Mater Dei falls to 4 and 8 in the Trinity League and out of playoff contention.

Re: Costelli headed to Mission Viejo

I heard that MV picked up three transfers from Jserra this week. The players transferred after their scholarships were reduced due to poor support at football fund raising event. My source could not provide names. Maybe Aberamsey has more details.

Re: New Santa Margarita coach

Coach Vieselmeyer needs to convince his former boss Jack Del Rio to join the staff. He could work with the linebackers while he waits for USC job.

Re: New Santa Margarita coach

Coach Vieselmeyer announced the first three hires to his staff. Tim Holt, former assistant offensive line coach with the Oakland Raiders, will work with the linemen at SM. Luke Del Rio, son of former Raider Head Coach Jack Del Rio, will coach tight ends. Luke played for Vieselmeyer at Valor Christia...

Not likely Moosington with the amount of talent lined up to transfer into Sierra Canyon for next season. Sierra Canyon is now following the Mater Dei football model (reload not rebuild).

Re: Transfer News? It’s that time of year again!

Wow now there’s a message you won’t see posted on McKnight or Rollison’s bulletin board at Mater Dei. Oh and to those two basketball players at MD that deserted their teammates at SM before the start of the season you should give one of your former teammates a call. Maybe they will let you look at t...

Re: New Santa Margarita coach

The new coach at SM has no choice but to go the mercenary route. He will be expected to bring in transfers and recruit the youth leagues. How else will he compete with MD, JS and Bosco ? Coach Fisher was just fired for his refusal to join the arms race.

Re: New Santa Margarita coach

Yes SM is in need of a QB. None of the freshman are ready and one of them is not better than Costelli. if he is someone should tell Jim Harbaugh at Michigan because he is pursuing Costelli. When things wash out at MV and the other QBs realize that Costelli was not recruited to be a backup they will ...

Re: New Santa Margarita coach

Only time will tell if this turns out to be a good hire. Vieselmeyer was very sussessfull during his time at OLu including a state championship as the DC. He also took over a new program at Valor Christian and took them to state championships. I'm pretty sure SM was already paying a generous salary ...

Re: Costelli headed to Mission Viejo

Chad Johnson has a long way to go to catch up to Bob Johnson when it comes to picking up transfers from SM. Bob brought in Jordan Palmer, Jed Collins and Mark Sanchez from SM. All three went on to have careers in the NFL. This off season SM has lost players to Bosco, MV, Jserra and San Clemente. San...

Re: Costelli headed to Mission Viejo

I hate to say this but Costelli will not be the last one to transfer from SM. There are several more on the way out and most likely headed to MV. They better bring in a coach at the level of Matt Logan or they may have to forfeit their Trinity League games next year. The limited talent they have lef...
