Re: Is Servite fielding a team this season?

Too harsh. St. Paul is a good program. They played Servite in the first game of the season as I recall. As a rule of thumb, whenever there is doubt always take the faster team early in the season opener when the rest of the offense and defense is still developing. St. Paul is not known for team spee...

Re: JSerra

I'm sure somebody has. I haven't. I would imagine the best thing for the league is to do what was the best move two years ago. Let the JSerra FB team free lance for four years and keep the rest of the teams in the league. Basketball and baseball have done well. Luca

Re: JSerra

I don't remember how SM voted but it doesn't make any diffference in terms of how he looked at things the folllowing week. Even if they voted not to play becasue they didn't think the air quality was good, the fact remains that the starters still missed out on a week of practice and he felt they nee...

Re: JSerra

I can't remember. The weather in South OC was good enough to play but I can't remember who was playing whom where that week. It doesn't matter in terms of whether the starters needed the work or not the following week. It was a misplay by SM. Luca

Re: JSerra

I have a feeling Coach Jacot is going to handle this one differently. In the meeting last year, Santa Margarita left its starters in for three quarters because the fires had prevented the previous week's games. Jacot thought the starters needed the work. Fair enough, but Coach Hartigan had given Jac...

Re: why do all my music threads get deleted?

I say: A lot of people who want to discuss High School Sports don't want to see music videos, political discussions or posts about what somebody watched on TV last night; I spent a few days installing software and setting up a number of topics to avoid such things, and I own the site and I pay the ...

Re: why do all my music threads get deleted?

You remember what happened at the old board. A number of individuals saw the traffic and the attention was an aphrodisiac for them. They could not stop talking about themselves or their kids or their fantasies and pretty soon the whole (term I like to refer to myself as) board was a collection of n...

Re: why do all my music threads get deleted?

I do remember that. My favorites were of course one man's 18 scroll diatribe play-by-play of his RSM eagles football games and interviews with the drunks in the stands. Mind blowing stuff. Almost as pleasurable as a three hour crap that you have to read about in the local news section in the Monday...

Re: The Pac-5 Playoffs...

You are basing your assessment on the fact that they both played poorly in two games as juniors?

It reminds me of the saying "Nothing is impossible for the man who doesn't have to do it himself." Luca

Re: The Pac-5 Playoffs...

Well, there is a returning QB who threw for 3500 yards last year. I know if I was a MLB I'd be looking to get myself back in a hurry. If they have a returning starting RB he should be significantly better - and bigger and faster - than he was as a junior. I believe the odds are the running game will...

Re: The Pac-5 Playoffs...

They had a very good running game two years ago with Mokhtar when they had everyone at full speed. Of course, the QB was then very young and that detracted from it. They did not have a RB threat last year. I have to assume they'll have better RBs this year (maybe not). Barkeley will be better and ma...

Re: The Pac-5 Playoffs...

That's not necessarily true. If MaterDei can get some reliable receivers and make the passing game highly effective that makes it much easier to maintain a running game. Your defensive linemen are more likely to come flying off the ball anticipating the pass and your linebackers are back on their he...
