Re: Trinity Track Season

As far as a team title appears to be Bosco and Servite. With Bosco taking the edge though will be close. Trinity is well represented in the sprints for CIF In D2 MD has 2 in the top 9 in 100 and one in the 200 and the #2 4x1 so far (it's early still) In D3 it is loaded- 4 of the top 9 in the 100 are...

Congrats to the Friars. The culture for wrestling at Servite is on point and has a great leader.

Re: Trinity Track Season

Lay low on speculation of reasons, it is ultimately not our business and this is a high school kid. Track and field will miss him this year not just in the Trinity league but at the CIF and state levels. I wish him the best as he was a great competitor and I (along with many others) recognized his t...

Re: Trinity Track Season

Yup. Not many but a few HS footballers with enough credits have done this, essentially graduating early. Barkley did this as have a few others. That is a tough one for Bosco track fans. If true his competitiveness will be missed as he makes you bring your A game.

Re: Trinity Track Season

It would make a big difference to lose the 3rd fastest returning sprinter in California. He did a lot of football camps last year and lost considerable early season training but finished very well. I assume he needs no camps this year as he is going to UW and has nothing to prove on the field, thoug...

Re: Trinity Track Season

MD Track, as has been the case this decade will have a competitive team. MD has 2 CIF titles (1 girl and 1 boy) and a state title on the boys side within the last 4 years and has been the runner up 3 of those years. There were also 5 OC titles and league crowns also. This years group has a very good...

Re: Corona Centennial vs SJ Bosco

Winning at the highest level (4A, Big Five, D1, Pac5) is not easy, if it were everyone would have done it. Just making it to the finals is no small task and for that matter the semi's. Noting MDDad's information there is an outlier here or there, this is an elite group that Bosco and Centennial have...

Exactly Alkohik Coaches who's mortgages depend on finding talent will do so and that has not changed. The highlight films, special coaches (weights, speed, skills etc.), passing tourney teams etc are really just a industry that lines the pockets of those who promote or believe the hype. DNA... Re: Power of a coach

Thanks for sharing Dad. So true, I believe the same is true for both of my sons and many others. It is way more important and strong influence than most like to admit. Wins and losses do not count as much as time passes but those lessons and times shared last a life time and pass on. Character count...

Oh I am sorry everyone gets a trophy is for 5 year olds in AYSO

RIP Coach Ulloa

Coach Ulloa, long time football coach in OC (Irvine and MD) has passed away. Great mentor and coached both of my sons at MD. He has touched countless lives and I celebrate him and thank him for his dedication. He was a contributor on this board as Yorkman.

Godspeed buddy!

Re: Week 1 for the Trinity League

MD did not have 22 football transfers. That number is the total for all sports with more than half girls
I believe MDDAD posted earlier the most for Trinity was Bosco followed by Servite then SM and MD JSErra and least OLU

Re: McKnight Lets one Get Away

Note this young man or his "agent" stated he was transferring to MD. No one from MD ever stated he was transferring etc. Not sure your statement of he got away fits. There was no room for him based on who is returning and likely was not going to be the #1 or #2 and shopped himself elsewhere I would ...

Re: Official Trinity League Arguing Thread

MD had 25 total transfers according to the CIF site More girls than boys and I believe 3-4 for football but likely no impact except the Browns. BB did get a kid from Hawaii Barajas Julia Limited to lower levels (JV or lower) in soccer for the 2015-2016 season Blomquist Elijah Braag Maximillian Crabi...

Re: Sean McGrew lighting up the testing going 4.38-40, 3.95

McGrew was 2nd in CA state track champs 100m and has a wind legal sub 10.60 which is as fast as about any college or pro footballer except a few who have track credentials. His time is legit and I believe can be much better.

Re: Transfer Season is here...THREAD!

Exactly Friar Joe, we may be homers in some aspects but recognize positive aspects on either side. In my experience you conisistently hear reference to Mater Dei, Santa Ana and that alone brings a positive vibe for the city that can often not get as positive a reference in relation to other OC citie...

Re: Track at CIFs

Considering he improved a tenth this year from 10.65 to 10.56, when admittedly he was not focused on track in the first half to 3/4 of track I think he is worth a .2 improvement next year. He may well challenge TJ Brock as he is prone to injury as noted at the end of the 100. McGrew is durable to sa...
