BUT you're into making stuff up too, so no surprise you got that wrong, too.
What part of "I'm not sure where she got that idea from" did you not understand?

Re: This site really needs a shot in the arm.

Well, yes, "funny" in a peculiar sort of, "ironic" way I suppose. I don't think it's funny at all. I think it's sad that an alleged adult would amuse himself at the expense of others. I think it's "funny" that you fancy yourself the great "white" hope riding in here on your steed proclaiming to all...

Re: This site really needs a shot in the arm.

Thanks for the invite. No problem. :) GDave's description was pretty close for the two threads I picked at random. Freethinker has the most ironic screen name I have seen in any forum. Echo2 is suffering from some sort of paranoid delusion about "Imperialist Police States"... And not counting profa...

Re: This site really needs a shot in the arm.

Heh, heh, heh ... the "hired gun" who claims I'm the problem is now stalking me from thread to thread and casting insuations and insults at me. Well, you posted this thread of insinuations and insults, I thought I'd offer people the opportunity to read for themselves and judge the veracity of your ...

Re: 9th District to hear Pro-Gay case ... big surprise

You have no self-respect if you pander to the plea of another liberal in this community and think you can come over here and bully me like you and your buddies bullied me over there. Aww Dave....are you feeling picked-on? Please tell me how I've bullied you. BTW, I have no idea as to the political ...

Re: This site really needs a shot in the arm.

As a benchmark, of sorts, I did find a different community a few months back. It was one I registered on, like, 6 or 8 years ago and, then, promptly forgot all about it. I became a regular (or "irregular," whichever) there for a few months but it is WAY worse than this place for boredom. First, NOT...

Re: 9th District to hear Pro-Gay case ... big surprise

How incredibly predictable. JQP and I faced off and I mentioned the "name search" Echo did to find this community ... immediately after that post, you show up here. I read your..."amusing" perspective on the events on allforums. Do you feel "set up" or anything? Nope. Sorry, my friend, but you've b...

Re: 9th District to hear Pro-Gay case ... big surprise

OH good: The old "I know you are but what am I" strategy. You have a habit of expressing yourself in elementary school terms....how old are you? Your call: I'm just trying to help a new guy along, here. Dave, you aren't in a position to offer helpful forum advice to others. One of the reaso...

Re: 9th District to hear Pro-Gay case ... big surprise

I thought that the Constitutionality of Prop 8 had been tested and upheld by the California Supreme court last year. If that is correct how can the court now rule against it? I could be wrong, but I believe the constitutional question that arose last year was whether it was legal to place a measure...

That is what I've already stated, Sherlock. Are you really this bad at arguing? I see that childish insults are all you have. Flip back a few posts ... I already cut you adrift. No, you fled claiming you'd be back when you had something to add. I haven't drifted anywhere. The discussion has proceed...

Re: 9th District to hear Pro-Gay case ... big surprise

Much as I understand your desire to be the center of attention, my comment to which you refernce, VP, is not an argument and I'm not trying to convince you of anything. Then I guess we can agree you didn't make a convincing argument. It's an observation and, yes, a small percentage of homosexuals a...

Re: 9th District to hear Pro-Gay case ... big surprise

Nice reach into the wayback machine, but regrettably, SBay didn't say anything about what Marriage was "traditionally." that looks like your own attempt to move the goalposts to a position you can more easily hit. What SBay was talking about was how Marriage was historically defined . Depending on ...

Re: 9th District to hear Pro-Gay case ... big surprise

The big deal is that one group is trying to redefine what has always been between a man and a woman. It has no impact on my marriage in any way shape or form. I am very secure in my marriage. We just celebrated our 34th. Congratulations on what was no doubt a joyous event. Some of your fellow citiz...

Re: 9th District to hear Pro-Gay case ... big surprise

EXACTLY as I said: All this is over the word "married" and has NOTHING WHATEVER to do in any way with "rights." The list of legal rights and privileges that accrue to married couples is a long and varied one. It has everything to do with rights. A small percentage of homosexuals don't like being to...

Re: 9th District to hear Pro-Gay case ... big surprise

Let me turn it around on you. So what's the big deal if they can't get married? They have the same rights already. What's the big deal? Do they love their partners any less if they're not married? Is anyone trying to take away any of their rights if they're not married? I believe that marriage shou...

Re: 9th District to hear Pro-Gay case ... big surprise

You're assuming that the majority is wrong in this instance. Well, it is my opinion, yes, but again, I don't think the specifics are necessarily relevant to the "tyranny of the majority" question. It was wrong when the majority set up "separate but equal"schools, and other public facilities for bla...

Re: 9th District to hear Pro-Gay case ... big surprise

The majority of California voters don't consider it a bad law. That may be true, but it's not terribly relevant to the question of fairness under the law. Earlier I posted something to the effect that "the people might be wrong" and while that may sound elitist or undemocratic, it's a truth that wa...

Re: 9th District to hear Pro-Gay case ... big surprise

Prop. 8 was voted on and is now the law. True, but there are ways to change bad laws built into our system of government, and appealing to a court for relief from a bad law is one of them. Your response is that political donations are a matter of public record ( Most people would assume that their ...

Re: 9th District to hear Pro-Gay case ... big surprise

Isn't it a little ironic that a lot of times gays fear being what most times we hear called " being outed ," by another party, yet they chose that same tactic which they obviously feel is wrong. "Outing" someone for their private conduct is wrong IMO, but the law says that political donations of th...
