Re: The anything NFL thread..

Pau can't challenge Griffin....he would probably lose every time. Bynum is like the "hope" factor for getting deep into the playoffs....would you put your money on Bynum and Pau as the deliverers? Kobe will burn himself out by playoff time...the Lakers are like the Celtics....fading. Who in the lea...

Re: The anything NFL thread..

The Lakers are dummo's. They could have had Jordan and Griffin fouled out by half time if they would have just gone down deep with their post up game to Bynum and Gasol and than coasted in the 2nd half. Instead it was narcissisticville with Kobe gunning away and the rest of the team standing around...

Re: Interesting question

Of course it's terrorism. It's just that when terrorism helps us achieve our objectives we don't like to call it that. We've invented lots of other clever euphemisms to describe such actions so as to remain philisophically unsullied.

Re: Anything NBA

Could anyone see the kind of scorer/rebounder Kevin Love turned out to be in the NBA? I know Memphis took him 5th in the draft and obviously wouldn't have traded him to Minnesota if they had any clue, although it was probably a pre-draft deal with Mayo, but DAMN!. Love is phenomenal and better than...

Re: Shocker! Democrat dirty politics in redistricting CA map

The irony is it was conservative interests that pushed Prop. 11 that created the current system. Stating that letting legislators or even judges draw district lines was too easily politicized. Now that results are such that there will be no prospect of any GOP pickups in either body they now want a...

Re: House Passes Payroll Tax Cut - Keystone Bill

House Passes Payroll Tax Bill That Will Never Become Law by Robin Marty December 14, 2011 8:00 am Don’t call it a “do nothing” Congress! The House has worked diligently together to pass HR 3630, a payroll tax cut extension bill weeks before deadline. Of course, the Senate has already stated there i...

Re: Democrats push back against voter identification laws

I see from you highlighted points that you believe this offers some sort of proof of widespread fraud at the polls. Interestingly, this article has nothing to do with the polls. It has to do with the signature gathering process for petitions, which is always a bit suspect. You pay people to gather ...

Re: Current European tax Rates!

What a bunch of non sequitur bs. Are you off your meds? Profound. I stand in awe of your eloquent rebuttal. I can see why the facts about the true cost of the Iraq Folly might cause you discomfort. I can picture you reading them with your fingers stuck in your ears. What exactly is "bs"? I'm sure t...

Re: Current European tax Rates!

Do you have any idea what we spent on Iraq? Just curious. Your "interesting facts" speak as if spending for the Iraq War is over. What we have spent so far is nothing compared to what we are going to spend into the future on medical treatment and replacing equipment. Your "interesting facts" conven...

Yeah, I remember when Bush was trying to link Saddam and Iraq to 9/11. How many TRILLIONS is that self-made fiasco adding to the debt?

JQP thanks for responding, I appreciate it. I asked you the questions I did because I view you as, uh, maybe more "wordly" than other progressives on this board. I was hoping to get more detail as a result. I posted specific metrics concerning our economic situation, and no "liberal" responses have...

Re: Democrats push back against voter identification laws

I honestly do not understand why some Americans have a problem with protecting our identities. I do not consider it an invasion of privacy at all. I consider it security, that no one can commit fraud using my identity. Living in a foreign country would help you understand the importance of having a...

Re: Democrats push back against voter identification laws

Is this how you think? That proving citizenship to vote is a police state??? Go back and look at some of the invasions of privacy Kramer was suggesting we submit to earlier in this thread. Are you okay with that? What's next, Biometrics? DNA testing? Microchip implants? Where does it end, and all f...

Re: Democrats push back against voter identification laws

If I remember right , back when B-2 Bob Dornan got beat by Loretta Sanchez it was shown that she won by 300+ illegal alien votes. Funny, no one ever did anything about than. Probably didn't want Dornan back anyway, BUT... You don't remember right. Try again. Voter fraud is not a big enough problem ...

Re: Democrats push back against voter identification laws

Without presenting an ID when voting, there is abosolutely no proof that one is eligible to vote, or hasn't voted more than once... You don't need an ID to prevent people from voting twice. We already do that by checking them off on the registration rolls as they vote. Presenting an ID is no proof ...

Re: Opinion: Anti-Christian Bigots Prey on Tebow

After reading the op-ed in its entirety, I must say that's one of the whiniest, most misleading, self-serving pieces of propaganda I've seen in awhile. That's five minutes of my life I'll never get back, and I feel stupider for having read the thing. I definitely don't recommend anyone else read th...

Re: Democrats push back against voter identification laws

What a bunch of lame assed arguements against voter ID...How else are we going to ascertain that the voter is a valid citizen and guarantee one man-one vote...Without voter ID we open the door to illegal and multiple votes, and corrupt elections... All I've seen so far are lame-assed arguments for ...

Re: Democrats push back against voter identification laws

You sound like a RINO to me. In fact the more I read the liberal you sounded. It's a difficult problem so lets just give in and take the easy way out. That is pure liberalism. The law says citizens vote. Why does that fact have to be means tested? All we need for your type of RINOism to be complete...
