18Echo: Have you stopped by the pool to gaze at the lovelies on the US women's water polo team?
I'm old enough to remember when the base was Los Alamitos NAS.

18Echo: When you say forever, you ain't kidding. My paternal grandparents were immigrants from the UK and loved going to that place. I am in my late 50s and remember going there as a boy. They do a good job.

I blame the parents. They were overly indulgent of these spoiled brats.

Re: Scalia vs Thomas...who is the better (?) USSC justice?

Fordama: What, in your opinion, makes a USSC justice a better justice if he asks questions? I've argued thousands of motions in the trial courts and about 20 cases in the various appellate courts (but never the USSC). Sometimes I was asked questions and sometimes not, even in a 3 judge panel. Howeve...

Re: Scalia vs Thomas...who is the better (?) USSC justice?

What is the metric for determining who is the better justice? The quality of the writing in an opinion signed by that justice? The opinion was probably written by a clerk with a few flourishes by the justice. Whether or not you agree with the opinion? That is highly subjective. Participation in oral...

He is a US citizen and over 35. That is all that is required under the Constitution.
Whether he was the right person for the job is a whole other matter (and I suspect that was the focus of your question).

Re: ISIS-ISIL, question to a knowledgeable one

Reconquista, where did you come up with the idea that Israel should reject our aid? I doubt that any country has rejected our aid as long as we have been giving it. Re: ISIS-ISIL, question to a knowledgeable one

Who does Obama think he is to tell Netanyahu what to do in his own country? Brooke: When the US is as beneficient with Israel as it is, that gives us the right to express an opinion. The leaders in Israel are free to ignore what we have to say or, if they feel that strongly about it, reject our aid...

Trump also wants to bar citizens who are Muslim from returning to this country if they are abroad.

Your username is an insult to all American citizens and shows your level of maturity. Regarding your posts on this thread, you can be proud of the fact that you took it off-topic into a meaningless free-for-all about warrants that no one was disputing instead of an honest discussion about the trage...

Re: Mass shooting in San Bernardino

Brooke: Insults don't advance conversation. Information does. Would you please tell us exactly what you mean by "preaching terrorism?" Does it include the scenarios I posed? Set aside your animosity long enough to have civil discourse. I think you are capable of it. Don't prove me wrong. By the way:...

Re: Mass shooting in San Bernardino

Brooke: Where your disconnect occurs is how "preaching" is defined. To me, an imam standing up in a mosque and saying "terrorism is good" "Let's hate America" and words to that effect is preaching terrorism. That language is protected. As somebody else here said inciting and acting is not protected....

Re: Mass shooting in San Bernardino

Brooke: Once again you ignore a Constitutional issue. It was explained to you in another thread how the First Amendment is implicated here. It is not a crime to say "terrorism is good." The right to say that is protected by the First Amendment. It is probably a crime to say "go out and do acts of te...

It's clear you don't want to honor the Constitution, but it is there for a reason.
