Re: Should Evolution be taught in public schools?

I don't think anyone would against teaching evolution in schools on this site. What about the brainwashed religious people? Do you think they would approve of evolution being taught even as a theory? They can't even admit it is possible god doesn't exist. I wonder if private religious schools have ...

Re: Would we have been better off with Hillary?

Yes, we'd be better off with Hillary. Obama has got us so burried in debt, our great grandchildren will not be able to pay it all off. How much (and I don't expect for anyone to answer this exactly, a general estimate would be good enough) debt do you think Obama and his administration are responsi...

Would we have been better off with Hillary?

Assuming the democratic party won the general election, would the US have been better off if Hillary had become president? "With the nation's economy -- and arguably its politics -- in shambles, it is not very surprising to find in a recent Bloomberg poll that 34% of respondents think it would have ...

Link Excerpt: Which is why, as I mentioned on another thread, the illegal alien problem may not be as black and white as a lot of people make it out to be. If tomorrow all the illegal aliens were deported, what would next week's onion or bag of grapes or car wash cost? If the US wanted to get rid o...

Re: Balls and strikes called electronically?

Penalties affect the game more than any other single thing at the nfl level imo, and you can't challenge those. How many times is the ball marked where it's at a game? How often are they exactly right? Probably never. The technology probably exists to determine precisely where the ball should be pl...

Why do women complain about not finding a decent guy?

Is it really to do with the quality of the men out there or are they simply too picky, holding out for something which does not exist or is so rare in real life? Their criteria often sounds simple enough: someone caring, kind, funny, smart blah blah, these traits aren't exactly rare, yet women compl...

Should Evolution be taught in public schools?

Globally, evolution is taught in science courses with limited controversy, with the exception of a few areas of the United States and several Islamic fundamentalist countries. Even in the United States, the Supreme Court has ruled the teaching of creationism as science in public schools to be uncons...

College Education Bashing

There's been a lot of bashing regarding the value of a college education with anecdotes of college grads working at Starbucks for $12/hr with $50k of loans. These bashers advise high schoolers to go into a trade instead. Some students who are weak academically but good with hands-on work might benef...

Re: Balls and strikes called electronically?

While we're at it, can we also make the strike zone the same size for all hitters? We don't lower the basket for short point guards, and we don't use a smaller goal for short hockey goalies, so why use a smaller strike zone for short guys or (worse yet) for guys who squat down? That is a completely...

Umpires would still be present for things that it is impossible to do electronically and the game would still be played by human players. Right now, ...
