Re: Stir the pot

Not sure what Bosco has to do with MD making their own choices. Are you asking if Rollo is a follower?

That's a good question. Someone in the know from Los Al could possibly shed some insight.

A couple checked in today. They were mostly members of the JV team but most were expected to start this year.

Re: Mater Dei Scared of IMG

I think the motivation behind this thread isn't necessarily anti-MD in nature. I think people actually want to see the game, and the OP is trying to goad Mater Dei into taking stronger steps to make it happen by calling them out. MD might be the only team capable of knocking IMG off. People actually...

I don't see what the height of the kid has to do with his ability to play. How tall was Flutie?

Re: What has happen to Servite football

These are all rumors until announcements are officially made. But it's looking like Thomas just picked up the best 8th grade QB in the country. Not bad at all.

Re: What has happen to Servite football

Most do, but we're talking double holdbacks, which are not most kids. I only know of one double holdback personally and he had a November birthday and would have graduated at age 17 had he went through school normally. Now he'll graduate at 19.

Re: What has happen to Servite football

It would depend on the birthdate. Kids with a late birthday, after the school year begins, might be 13 upon entering their 9th grade year and turn 14 shortly thereafter. But CIF rules state you can't turn 19 before 6/15 and be eligible in your senior year, so a double hold back tells me you had a la...

A double holdback says to me he is turning 16 at some point during his freshman year.

Re: What has happen to Servite football

The OC Buckeyes won the AYF national championship. Looks like the pipeline is being set for those kids to funnel into Servite. I saw a photo and TT already had his son running with Les Fifita in 7v7 this spring.

Re: High School Sports are being Ruined

As others have said, HS sports isn't ruined. Out of the 550+ SS schools, 70+ LA City schools, 200+ SD schools, how many are we really talking about being affected? 10% maybe. MAYBE. The other 90% of schools are hardly affected. We are talking about the top of the food chain, and let's face it, no on...

So what's a Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, etc. team? Are certain divisions slotted into certain tiers? Is that it?

Servite apparently doesn't want to play in the same sandbox as Bosco and MD. Adapt or die.

Re: 2018 Sunset League/DII/DIII

Just assumption but based on that formula they used to determine where teams will fall. I haven't heard anything. But their strength of schedule and playoff loss certainly will hurt them when looking at what other programs did last year

Re: Bryce Young

If you want HS football to be "HS football" as it once was, it kind of makes sense to introduce club teams into the mix.... let clubs handle the top athletes and leave HS football for normal HS kids.

Who is "raiding" any of these schools? --:-- Are their star players being kidnapped and tossed into trunks? You guys are hilarious. Competition breeds success folks. If you ain't competing, you will lose your star players and won't get any more in the future. Get to winning or get to dying!
