Re: Competitive equity is tough in the lower divisions.......man......

So if i understood correctly how the CIF new playoff system based off of wild card formula. A 2018 season mock up would be Division 1 1. Bosco 8. Mission Viejo 4. Oaks Christian 5. Jserra 3. Mater Dei 6. Bishop Amat 7. OLU 2. Centennial So that would leave Notre Dame, Servite, Norco, Serra, San Clem...

Re: Competitive equity is tough in the lower divisions.......man......

I guess San Clemente got alot of street cred by beating MV last year. Ortiz is happy now, but when he goes one in done in the first round vs a Bosco again, they will be dropped like a bad habit. Cant believe they are still in D-1?? They will not be playing Bosco because more then likely they wont m...

Re: Competitive equity is tough in the lower divisions.......man......

Couple of points 1. I think they are calling it D1 instead of Open that way the runner up doesn’t have a chance to go to State. In the Open division format you can take runner up. 2. I know some people are surprised that the formula had certain teams above others. It really doesn’t matter because it...

Change Coming to FB Playoff

Eric Sondheimer Tweet “The Southern Section is seriously considering creating an eight-team Open Division for the football playoffs and picking the teams at the end of the regular season. Teams would come from Division 1 only” Should be interesting as to what they come up with. I also heard they are...

Re: Transfer News? It’s that time of year again!

When it comes to Elias Ricks, nobody on this thread knows what they're talking about or what is really going on. So all this speculation is pretty pathetic, and maybe you should all just give it a rest. https://247sports.com/Article/LSU-DB-commit-Elias-Ricks-talks-about-why-hes-leaving-the-Mater-De...

Re: Nike Event This Weekend

That would be very interesting as Bosco and MD are big for Nike. One thing to consider here as well is there's a big 7v7 tourney out of state so will players choose there HS team or 7v7 team? Will see...

That is true a junior to be. He's a lefty. SM will be his third school. Kid came from Utah.

Santa Margarita is getting a QB transfer from Corona Centennial. 6-4 200 lefty junior to be recently checked out. This will be his third school in three years. Came from Utah before that.

Re: Corona Centennial vs. Mater Dei

CC doesn't get ALL the talent, you are correct, they get ALL the talent that matters Just like Bosco, they don't get ALL the talent from the Long Beach area that POLY used to get, they simply get ALL THAT MATTERS, they get the difference makers. You take Bosco's second team send them back to POLY a...

Re: Corona Centennial vs. Mater Dei

That untrue sir. Trinity League schools are taking a lot of the kids from the IE. So the talent level isn’t the same that is coming out of there. CC is keeps up with MD/SJB because of coaching.

Re: Corona Centennial vs. Mater Dei

I could definitely see a 35-28 game or something like that. I know CC doesn't usually have defense but thy do this year and its pretty good especially the DL.

Re: Playoff Bracket Guesses

MD Dad, a seeded team cannot have an away game......my guess *Bosco vs. Gardena Serra *Long Beach Poly vs. Valencia *San Clemente vs. Murrieta Valley *Oaks Christian vs. Chaminade *Mater Dei vs. Mission Viejo *Vista Murrieta vs. J Serra *Amat vs. Rancho *Centennial vs. Lutheran This wouldn’t happen...

Re: Playoff Bracket Guesses

RPW, I agree with you. Coincidentally, nobody is calling for Centennial and Norco to be kicked out of the Big VIII, or proposing that nobody schedule them. That seems to be a rare whine unique to the Trinity region. I hope you aren’t trying to compare Bosco and MD to CC and Norco lol. And don’t say...

Re: D1 Playoff Picture

With Mission Viejo losing last night I think there will be some changes. Serra also lost to Chaminade so they now have a chance and control there destiny. Servite has to hope for a Serra or Chaminade loss to get in.
