Re: Pride, Poise, and Courage, revisited
Thanks Fate! The avatar is classic. Agree JB - parents guide this deal one way or another. Omar - you are 2 for 2 in foolish responses to my rare posts. Hopefully, you aren't a parent! You are probably (hopefully) just trolling. You mentioned me being a 15 year old girl for predicting an easy win fo...

Pride, Poise, and Courage, revisited
So much back and forth on this subject. So much ignoring of valid points on both sides, and talking past other's posts. I've been on both sides of the fence with the team I've followed. Pride, Poise, and Courage have NOTHING to do with winning championships now....that's done by assembling all-stars...

Re: Mater Dei Monarchs 2017 CIF-SS Division 1 Champions
I'll watch MD with interest after reading that they need to replace their o line. If I had to bet, they won't skip a beat, and will repeat next year if their QB stays. As for the o line, any of the lower levels that won't step in capably will have their positions filled in with transfers to assure v...

"The only people predicting a Mater Dei blowout are 15-year-old girls and people who wants to create expectations so ridiculously high that anything less is a failure..."
What a stupid comment, Omar.

Re: The new game
I have to wonder, of the many people who are turned off by what high school football has "become", how many will be watching the game on TV Saturday night? I'm probably a pretty typical old guy example. I'll either watch or record the MD/Bosco game, with not much interest, but to see which titan pr...

Re: Most Dominant FB team in history?
I don't know about you guys, but for me, transfers were gradually changing the game for a couple of decades, then in the past five or six years, it just hit another level. Maybe it's temporary, but super-teams CC and Bosco, joined this year my MD, have no one get close to them, unless they schedule ...

Re: Most Dominant FB team in history?
Just like the steroid question in baseball, there should be a pre transfer era and post transfer era discussion of this question.
I have no interest in dominance with the change in the HSFB game, like I have no interest in Mcguire, Bonds, Gagne stats in baseball.

Re: Servite vs. De La Salle
gotta love hsfb Fate and Mumpherey - you took heat from everywhere, much of it mockery. Now that you were proved right about the Friars hanging, of course DLS is just a sh*tty team. Those who mock usually aren't heavy on humility. Even Friar Joe and Joefutbol had zero faith pregame! GREAT job Friars...

By contrast, Amat, who lost to Servite 36-0, lost 13-12 in the first round to Lakewood, who, in turn lost to Alemany 20-10 in the 2nd round." I went down your way to see that Alema...

Re: Troy Thomas to Santa Margarita!!!!
beerseach - your question is valid and I think answered in large part by Axe's original post, and the last para. of my post I wouldn't be surprised if TT is trying to adopt Grady's philosophy and a bit of Ladouceur's at DLS, and I'm not sure it's doable here in the southland DLS has their pick of th...

Re: Troy Thomas to Santa Margarita!!!!
@ Mike Axe thanks for the posts - especially the initial one just don't try to take Thomas from Crespi when you are up here, OK? Bongo, Roadrunner...actually most of the posters on the boards don't relate to your first post, and would think I'm crazy for wanting Thomas at Crespi more than ever, afte...

Re: Power of a coach
Thanks again IrvDad. There's a 3/1/10 OC Register article on him that reflects what HSFB should be all about. Seems like the right guy for your son to want to emulate.
I'm a moron at linking, but you can google Coach Henigan California and find it right away.

footballfan50 - you've got to quit while you are way behind, with the gap widening at each post. To add insult to injury, you don't know ANYTHING about Thomas/Crespi. Goodness you post like a product of American education you extoll, and you embarrass yourself. And to wrestlingfan, friar4life and do...

Crespi doesn't think it was too silly. Thomas prides himself on defensive tenacity, and OLU shredded them. No team did that to Crespi all year last year, with the exception of 2nd half LB Poly.

hey HUDL isn't accessible for 59 year olds with no kids in the game, no coaching/AD status, and actually no status relative to HSFB other than being a hopeless junkie for it, is it? I went on the site and my role as a pathetic devotee of 50 years wasn't one of the available choices for sign up
