The idea is to help your own first and then extend a hand to those in need, legally.

That would be your idea, but why does it have to be my idea? Do I also have to have the same definition as you for "your own"?

Where the left came up with the idea of sacrificing their own is a mystery to me because it is wrong and it is counter to sustaining life.

It's called altruism and the "left" didn't "come up with the idea", it comes from evolution. It isn't "counter to sustaining life", it's a behavior that was selected for in numerous species because it was beneficial to the species even though it might not be beneficial to the individual practicing it. We sometimes refer to altruistic humans as "compassionate" and non-altruistic individuals as "selfish".

I look forward to your explanation of why altruism is wrong, unpatriotic, and violates "the rule of law".

"It is a perversely cruel outlook to..." deport American children. Period.

fordama, it is absolutely not perversely cruel to deport U.S. citizen children of illegal aliens. In fact, if you were a parent then you would automatically know that it would be an almost impossible decision to leave your child in the care of others.

There are billions of people living in other countries, why do you think the USA is a magic Eden for all of them? Follow the logic of where you are going and think what the result would be. That should answer all your dilemmas about the morals of immigration issues from now on.

Do you believe that American citizens are stupid enough to ruin their own country? Which is where your logic goes regarding immigration issues. Immigration laws exist for the very reason to benefit this country and all other countries who have them. They don't exist to be pawns so that foreigners all over the world can take advantage and exploit our country because we are stupid.
Who in their right mind uses a welcome sign to mean people who would come into their home uninvited, paid by their neighbors who are using their illegal labor, overrun the neighborhood, and refuse to leave?

Because it stems from the universal family unit and then extends outward from there. There are universal ideas and the family is one of them.

You don't get to turn logic upside down in 2014 because you are a liberal.

But, if you insist that you are different then explain the logic please? Why would you sacrifice your own in order to embolden your enemies? Your enemies would not view that in your favor, they would view you as odd at the very least and someone that could not be trusted.

Our enemies view strength as admirable, which is displayed in fighting for and protecting their own.

Guess you don't subscribe to Darwin's theory of evolution... Survival of the fittest
It is no wonder that the human gene pool is taking such a nose dive...
I wonder what the next dominant species will be... Ants? Roaches? Rats? none of them are altruistic...

Altruism is admirable as long at it doesn't destroy the person or the entity who is extending it or betray someone or others in doing so. Such as deporting American citizens in exchange for illegal aliens.

And the number and situation of those that this order extends to doesn't come minutely close to to "destroying" us.

Brooke, there are some "Americans" that I would be willing to trade for a deserving alien...
Gang bangers, criminals, druggies, people with their heads so far in the clouds as to be beyond reality..
Wholesale trading for the same is not a winning solution, as you say.. We need people willing to be free, self sufficient, and join us as a country, not people who bring their problems here and expect us to deal with them and join them in their misery.

Dragging us down to their level is destroying us, Fordy.. Just look at down town Santa Ana, Anaheim, and South Central LA.. Look at our schools, ERs, and court rooms.. Compare the legal immigrants we get from Asia to those who sneak across our southern borders.. Who would you rather have as neighbors, Fordy??

fordama, that is no excuse for the president of this country to turn the Constitution upside down and inside out so he can pretend that the rule of law does not pertain to him.

Moreover, the 1986 amnesty was originally intended for about 1.3 million illegals and due to fraud about 3 million benefited. Which in a matter of time turned into the mess we have now with an estimated 20 - 30 million illegals.

I don't think I have posted anything about the announcement the WH made in November about a new program to bring in Central Americans. This has nothing to do with Obama's Executive Amnesty Plan that so far few details are known.
“The administration is abusing both the refugee process and its very limited powers of parole to admit people to the U.S. who are otherwise ineligible for admission.”
- Dan Stein, president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR)
November 14, 2014

(Washington, D.C.) The Obama administration announced Friday a sweeping program to bring Central Americans to the United States permanently starting in December. In doing so, the administration is executing a plan originally proposed in July as tens of thousands of illegal alien minors streamed across the U.S.-Mexico border.

Under the program, the federal government will grant either refugee status or parole to children and adults from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. The process will start when parents who are “lawfully present” in the U.S. file an application for refugee status on behalf of their unmarried children (under 21) in El Salvador, Guatemala or Honduras. If the second parent resides with the child, the second parent may be added to the application. DHS will then screen the child to make a decision on the application.

Under the administration’s plan, those who are denied refugee status may still be eligible for parole. The inclusion of parole in the Obama administration’s program is significant because it greatly expands the number of aliens who may be eligible for the program. There is no statutory cap on the number of aliens who may receive parole. https://www.fairus.org/news/Obama-admin ... umvent-law

In addition fordama, the Obama administration has lied to the American people about this plan. To accuse someone or a group of lying is an ugly thing and that is because it is ugly and deceitful especially for the executive branch or the US government to lie to the people it is supposed to be working for.

It is obvious to anyone paying attention that the president is out-of-control. He pays attention to no one - he refuses to even listen to his advisers who are supposed to be qualified experts in their fields. And outright blatant lying is as natural as breathing to Obama.
FAIR also disputed administration claims that parolees are not eligible for medical and other benefits upon arrival in the United States. “From the very first day, aliens with parole are eligible to sign up for programs such as Obamacare, Social Security and Medicare because federal regulations deem aliens with parole to be ‘lawfully present.’ Within a year, they will become ‘qualified aliens,’ which, over the course of five years, makes them eligible for all federal public benefits,” said Stein.
The above paragraph is a perfect example of how the Morton Memos were designed to work. They were specifically designed to scam the American people. Who is going to look into the WH claims, but organizations like FAIR and CIS who have lawyers and experts to look this stuff up? Everyone else would just take them at their word.

Honestly, there is no way that you can dispute the low down tactics this administration uses to ensure that the future of the USA is headed toward socialism. By one man.

I want to emphasize that altruism has nothing to do with sacrificing your own. It is difficult to tell why you ignored or included it in your definition. Can you make it more clear please?
