Time to sleep for me. I hope I at least gave this place a little shot in the arm if nothing else. Big day tomorrow for me at James Bond island:

Good thing about the underwing is when you hit bumpy air it is more cushioned. Wing on top feel like your gonna drop outta the bottom of the plane ...

Will you have a headset? That usually makes people alot more comfortable when I fly when you can hear whet's going on and drown out the engine noise. If you don't, let me know and I can let you use an extra pair I have, stereo and it has an iPod port on it ...

he's taking you to Yuma and telling you it's Denver, that's my old trick. Here's how you tell Cactus=Yuma Pine Trees = Denver. I once took my wife to Catalina and told her it was Hawaii to this day she still thinks she's been to Hawaii and shows everybody the photos of the casino on the big island

If you are flying high (above 8,000 sea level) take it easy on the alcohol. The SR22 cabin isn't pressurized and you can dehydrate if you're not careful. If you don't have any motion issues, the dehydration will get you and that isn't good up there. Altitude can suck the juice outta people. Ms. Z-lady (when she does fly with me) drinks about an hour before a trip and then brings a few bottles of water to keep her hydrated.

One thing I always tell my passengers, "If you feel sick, use the barfbag. When you do, face the back." Nothing is worse than pukeage on the panel .. specially if it shorts out anything like a radio or GPS. It happens more than you can imagine ...

I didn't know about THAT Yuma, I thought you meant you were going to Yuma, AZ. You may go over the Rockies then. If you do, it's gets real bumpy air on beautiful days because of the ground heat rising against the mountains. Landing at 4100 feet , which Yuma is at should be easy. Taking off at that altitude can pose some challenges for the newer pilot but since the plane flies outta that airport, your pilot has that home field advantage.

Ok, I'm starting to get a little excited..my bff is flying with me too..as for the pilot..he's been flying since he was a teenager..total pro..I think the flight might be the best part of the trip because there is not much in Yuma..the pilot has a huge farm with horses so we will ride and then there is some sort of parade going on..I'm thinking it will be about as lively as a small block party here in OC:)

Sounds like a nice, quiet vacation .. enjoy. See if he'll let you get some stick time .. it's fun and easier than driving a car.

Now I have a hankerin to go out and get some hours. I'm gonna have to drive to Oceanside to see if I can borrow my son's plane for the weekend.

My how things have changed .. "uhhh .. son, can I borrow the keys to the plane?" "Sure, Dad Gas it up and have it back by 2300 hrs ... got it?"
