I'll sum up. Operation Chokepoint is an attempt to tackle online fraud. Online gun sales is one of the area in which there has been a lot of fraud, so it has been listed, along with several other types of online business, as "high risk."

So right wing media and blogosphere yahoos are claiming that this is an attempt destroying the 2nd Amendment. Lot's of idiots are following along like mindless lemmings.

That is all.

Like everything else, extreme NRA types have no clue about what the 2nd Amendment doesn't say.

Gun nuts (I'm a gun owner) have this belief that they should be allowed to own and openly carry any type of firearm. They also believe in the precepts espoused in the "stand your ground" law.

It is only a matter of time before those two ideals collide. The results will be disastrous and I can only hope that any innocent bystanders are not hurt in the process.
They told me if I voted for Hillary Clinton the president would be emotional, impulsive, and unpredictable. They were right. I voted for Hillary Clinton and got a president that is emotional, impulsive, and unpredictable.

Talk about skewing an article way off topic.. These responders only read and addressed the one issue they resonated with. Those that were able to read the article before John erased the link would find that the NRA and 2nd amendment issues were a tiny part of the issue.

Feds Attack U.S. Businesses in 'Operation Choke Point'

Operation Chokepoint was cracking down on banks and business like PayPal who process payments for other businesses. The main focus was payday loans. The Justice department (Herr Holder & company) would penalize banks if the payday loan industry broke any laws. All the banks do is collect and process payments to these companies. Holder, FDIC, FTC wants the banks to assure, under penalty to the banks, that no laws or regulations were broken by what they term as "high risk" businesses. In other words businesses they don't like. Gun and ammo sales, "You won't find this in stores" informercials, on line gambling, and the like right now. We all know how the government expands their reach after the fact.

Wrong again Fordy...Guess you're reading a lot more into this article than Gingrich wrote..
There is no mention of the NRA anywhere.. None.. Zip... Nada..
The main complaintant was the banking association. The target of Operation Chokepoint at this time is the payday loan industry. It was the Times who mentioned a gun dealer getting dropped.
What was that other thread about biased headlines?? Seems you and John went to the same reading classes and created your own biased responses... --:--
