Mystery meat (the kindest suggestion was it was road kill) swimming in grease, velvita cheese, watery salsa, week old tomatoes, etc. and stale tortillas
and those small bottles of some off brand beer.. How about steak Tuesday instead, and not Norm's version of steak either.. =P~

Your taco sounds like the crap they serve in texas; tex-mex or whatever the heck they call it.
If the steak is from Morton's you have a deal!

Misinformed as usual. Tex Mex rocks. I've never had better Mexican food than they have here. Taco Bell is the best Mexican food in OC and it's real meat not that dog food they feed you there

Sorry, wrong again. New Mexico has WAY better mexican food than Texas.

I would have to agree. Santa Fe has two really good Mexican (AUTHENTIC) restaurants. Tomasitas and The Shed! I am sure there is more. I love the Sopapillas at Tomasitas!

90% of what we eat in Mexican restaurants are American creations. Tacos, fajitas, burritos anything with flower or cheese or that uses a food processor like salsa (and I can't stand when they bring me pico de gallo with chips) Unless you're eating goat meat or fish soup it's probably not truly "AUTHENTIC" and is either Cal Mex, Tex Mex or New Mex. I know, I know it said AUTHENTIC on the sign

If it's a Mexican restaurant owned by a Mexican and the chefs are Mexican isn't it authentic?

What if I (An American) cook you Tacos using the recipe of a Mexican. Is that authentic?

What if a (Mexican) cooks me a hamburger? Is that authentic American?

What if a Mexican restaurant owned by a Mexican and the chefs are Mexican but the food sucks? Is that authentic?

If the Chef's being Mexican was a criteria than most Chinese restaurants would be "authentic" Mexican restaurants too. Here I found a link for your dinning and dancing pleasure:

Taco's are an American creation so if they have a recipe they got it out of the Betty Crocker Cookbook
