The Pack got Robbed!

Post by CredoDomer »

I haven't seen anything that bad since the "Bush Push"!

I guess Golden Tate now knows what it feels like to play for USC... :-"

Our beloved sport is nothing more than a joke right now. As a fan, I'm insulted that after all of my support I've given the NFL over my LIFETIME, I'm given that complete joke and kick in the nuts as a thank you. I'm officially on STRIKE from the NFL and will have no part of it until this is fixed. Even if the officials return tommorow, unless the NFL awards Green Bay the win, I still think I'm going to be too pissed to come back anytime soon...

Blame the refs (the real ones not the replacement ones).

The joke is the NFL is a nine billion dollar industry, so the money for the refs is there. It's just the league trying to show brass balls to help subsequent negotiations with players.

Pathetic.

I wish I had seeinred's resolve, but I don't. I will still watch the NFL while holding my nose.

It's not their fault. They don't get paid jack Hello Kitty rocks!. Manning makes $80,000 per completion, and these guys get $50,000 for the season. Obviously they are worth more than they are getting.

They make 100-150k a season.

They aren't striking over money, they're striking over retirement benefits. What other part time employee gets retirement benefits?

You are paid what you're worth. Obviously they are worth that, and more, in my opinion.

Zebra, what's your take on the call?

I don't think so. I believe there is much more to being a referee that than what we see on TV. You and I and most others are nowhere near being able to do it. It's about professionalism.

The regular refs blow calls and make mistakes all the time. But you can take that into consideration. The replacement refs (God luv 'em in a tough situation) take it to a different level that is unpredictable. But here we are in the regular season. There is literally multimillions of dollars on the line (player contracts with incentive bonuses on specific plays, the gambling world with money on the game, etcetra, ad infinitum.... NFL pulls in 9 Billion every year. Here we are bitching about 30 million going into week four.

As our dead friend and others might have stated:

C'MON MAN!?!!

Spend the money and get it done. You're on the edge of credibility.

Once again what part time employees get retirement benefits? They get paid enough, and while there is more that goes on, you do realize that a lot of refs still have additional full time jobs the rest of the week right?

Also, sure the NFL pulls in 9 billion a year, but guess what? There's a concussion lawsuit looming. If they lose you can kiss about 100 billion goodbye.

Well, NFL ref's are a simple answer to your question about part-timers getting retirement benefits (again I question whether or not the regular NFL refs are part-timers as opposed to the DIII officials getting worked by professional players and coaches alike, all across the league), the pro refs are indispensable to the 9 billion dollar equation IMHO.

Do you think the situation as it is now is acceptable? I don't.
