Postby kingspeed » Mon Mar 11, 2019 12:05 pm

Track season is heating up though colder weather is hampering the season a bit, This is a link to the statewide marks if interested http://www.prepcaltrack.com/wp-content/ ... ders-2.pdf

Thnx for the track facts King...., I'm an old track guy myself. That said you should probably keep one RUNNING (pun intended!) thread on the subject....

This is the one that impresses me.

Boys 3000 Meters (9:03.90)
8:13.31 *Nico Young (Newbury Park-SS 2/23 Rossi Relays (s1-1)
8:39.61 *Jace Aschbrenner (Newbury Park-SS) 2/23 Rossi Relays (s1-13)
8:46.57 **Nicholas Goldstein (Newbury Park-SS) 2/23 Rossi Relays (s1-23)

Young is also first in the 1500 and 1600. Also a number of OC kids ranking in the 1500 meters to 3200 meters, six over 6'3'' in the high jump and some good pole vaulters, shot putters and discus throwers. Track ain't just about sprints.
Don't look at me, I just work here.

Troy Thomas will be camping on this kid’s lawn until he joins the football team.

At least he wouldn’t have to worry about the playoffs conflicting with his soccer season ...

He is a soccer player so not likely to get him for football, though I am sure he will be recruited. Note soccer, particularly for club ahtletes, is very stingy and have to assume he is skipping some for track. Thank goodness as he will be quite good considering his launch point as a frosh.

Kingspeed, what’s your outlook for the Trinity Championships? I’ve been told Bosco has a bunch of guys that were either injured early on from 7v7 or guys that started late for the same reason. They should have one of the top 4x1 teams in the southern section if their main guys are running. Did they run the relay at South county?

Bosco had a bad final exchange at South County and did not finish the race. They will be ok but lost Toler to football. Frankly they could have had a state contender and may still. Were they healthy last year the 4x1 would have won state in my opinion. 40.96 and would have been better in Clovis.

League will likely be between Bosco, SM and Servite. However MD boys have a top CIF team for D2.
