Boys, This Is The Future Of OC Varsity Sports On-Line Chats

Post by Parrotpaul » Sat Nov 17, 2007 1:13 pm

This is it, boys....the new site for all OC High School Sports posters.

This is pretty much the same format at the MYOC site, and everyone is welcome to register..EVEN MAXCADY!!!!!

Come on in and start talking about high school sports. The Reg is forcing us into a BLOG kind of format, and all we want to do is discuss sports.

This site has all the bells and whistles we need, and it is a piece of cake to navigate.

What say ye?

GOOOOOOOOOOD THIN'in, Bobba Louie!

And thanks for the reminder and the link over in MYOC. This is a great replacement. Only, who's "hanna?" Far as I can see, she only posts newspaper articles... #-o

Saaaaaaay, isn't that a Patriot's emblem you're sporting there? I hear they've won 3 of hte last 6 SB's... You must be a fan or something. I also hear you married a babe! Any truth to that rumor?

:D

Hanna is from Brad's old El Toro board. She was one of the stalwart warriors at the front lines of the El Toro battles. She and her hubby used to live in Northwood, but they now live in Minneapolis.

Hanna loves to keep everyone current on the aviation news.

Patriots?? Yes...I am a Patriots fan, and I did marry a babe. It's ALL good.

Hey PP, here I am!

I, too, was not impressed by the new OC forum.

I, too, like, appreciate, and take with a grain of salt, MAXCADY!

This board looks pretty cool, if even half of the OC Varsity posters get onboard, this site will take off.

Y'all bee coooo. (or not!)

No, the headline alludes to a poll on the other board that the mods deleted.

Besides being a "stalwart" of the El Toro Wars, Hanna was also one of the founders of my original board. She even came up with the name.

There are a couple reasons for her only posting newspaper articles. One is that that's been her style. She posts articles and discussions have gone from there. And some of them have been downright heated. Calling her "feisty" would be an understatement. Except that was back in the days when all of the heated discussions were all off-topic. Once I opened the board up to other topics, nobody seemed to be especially interested in discussing them anymore. Odd. :? Maybe now that more people are coming over we'll get to see the old Hanna in action.

The reason for all of the aviation related articles is that this board has been serving as sort of a news dump for the El Toro Info Site since they shut their board down because of spammers. That was where they posted articles that weren't directly related to El Toro/Heritage Fields/The Great Park.

And attachments - that actually display!

There is one small bug, though, that can't really be fixed. When you try to post a text link, the "URL" button doesn't do the whole job and you have to add the "=http://whatever" to the {URL ] tag. When you hover over the button it shows you the format but it doesn't actually insert it for some reason. Hopefully that will be fixed in the next version of the software, which I'll be installing as soon as it's released.

Who runs this board? I'm putting the url into my sig on the other board to get others to sign up.

I suggest that we all change our sig on the Register site to encourage a migration to this forum.

Yeah... I could work with this..... But my registration is predicated on the idea that the register page will be closing..... I want to add my avatar, but the image has to be REALLY small, much smaller than the registers page. Ill get the hang of it....
