Perspixx Pool in jeopardy

Post by RandyF59 » Mon Sep 16, 2013 1:41 pm

Judging by perspixx posting and his not responding to my offers to help, the pool may be in jeopardy. If so I put together a makeshift Pool lineup that I will put up "just in case" perspixx is truly fed up with the job. I wouldn't blame him a minute. We'll have a pool as long as people keep picking . :D

Very much appreciate that.

I may not do well in picking the games, but it helps me keep up.

Perspixx flaked out the last year of the pool. Don't understand what his problem is.

I might still be able to do it but there are a couple of issues I have to work out. The plugin seems to do what we would need it to do and I got the CPU usage down to a reasonable level but we might have to do registration by email only since the open registrations last week were about 2-1 spammers/bots to real humans. There's also the problem of the ad provider maybe seeing it as gambling, which is against their rules. I'll have to ask about that.

And then there's the matter of it being run by a complete flake of a webmaster....

Thanks Randy. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

Vern - Spixx has been doing this for years. Having done stuff for another group myself, it's easy to get worn down by some guys nitpicking to the point where you're done with it all. He's definitely no flake.

I have intense personal issues ongoing. Sorry, Vern, that I haven't been able to provide a group of Internet strangers with the intricate details of why I can no longer devote several hours a week to something for which I receive no compensation and very little personal fulfillment.

Randy's efforts have my full support and should be considered to be a legitimate continuation of the 2003-2011 competition that I operated.

Things will improve, perspixx. They always do.

I'm sure everybody here appreciates the work you've done, even though they might not show it. Just trying to enter your list onto a <FORM> I appreciate the hell out of it and I don't even play.
