Servite vs. De La Salle

Post by BoscoWillBeBack » Sun Dec 22, 2013 12:21 pm

Wow, I just watched that 48-8 thumping.

And the 35-10 one as well.

Pretty icky, if I was a Servite fan I would be pretty mad at Bosco too!

You went back and watched two insignificant football games between two programs with which you have no association? Looks like you're the mad one.

If DLS beat Servite that badly, just imagine what they would do to little Corona Del Mar!

The 16-0 CDM could give the 6-6 Servite a game.

How was that 48-8 loss feeling?

Curious, not bashing.

It wasn't bad for me, that was what I expected. How does winning the Division 63 title feel?

Is Corona Del Mar's biggest player really 235 lbs? In what way would the give a Pac 5 semifinal caliber team a game?

Joefutbol, thanks for the troll bait haha.

I was getting sick of these Servite posters so I pretended to be a CDM fanboy. Ah, how easy is it for you to be trolled. [-X

Did De La Salle traumatize the Servite program?

Post by BoscoWillBeBack » Sun Dec 22, 2013 2:16 pm

It seems after they loss, they've never been the same.

Wow, is De La Salle that amazing of a program?!

Most programs can usually back themselves after that loss, but after De La Salle just knocked out Servite; it seems they're still on the ground scared to go back up.

Tom, that is a timely and insightful post...oh wait, no it's not all all.

Maybe Servite graduated some incredible talent and had a down year against a very tough schedule two years ago.

To say that they have never recovered is dumb because they went to the second round of the playoffs this year (like Bosco last year).

I know that you are feeling good today and you felt like tweaking some Servite fans, but you just look like clown.

...and I'm not even a Servite fan.

Considering they graduated studs like Cody Pittman, Cody Fajardo (Starting QB for Nevada), Kirifi Taula (DT for Arizona), Troy Niklas (Starting TE for Notre Dame), you'd think they would have a drop off. Also, the recruiting appeal of Troy Thomas left when he resigned, talent would decline.

They will make a run, in my opinion, next year.

To make another point, this year's team wasn't supposed to be as good as they were. Most of the posters here were saying "servite will be 2-8 at best", and they ended 5-5 (?) with a postseason berth and 1-1 in the playoffs. This young team doesn't seem traumatized.

You beat the two worst DLS teams of the last 25 years with your two best teams of all time..... and just barely. Any program you mentioned would have done the same.

Get back to me when you beat Servite.

Many people would argue that the 2013 Spartans were the weakest De La Salle team of the last 25 years, including two of the founders of the Spartanhood website, who know more about De La Salle football than any of us on this forum. The team's almost total inability to mount any kind of passing game against above average teams was something the program hadn't had to overcome before, and it wasn't up to the challenge.
