Would be surprised if Bosco makes the finals this year.

They replace both starting WRs and all 4 DBs that started most of the year. They will have talent but young and they have not played a lot of PL against other teams this year yet.

So, if you got to set up the Pools, which Pool do you wish your school of choice was in?

Noseguard, Bosco also claims the 2013 National Championship and # 1 Ranking, while currently being ranked #11 for 2014

Pool A Ranking breakdown (One of these things is not like the others):

Corona Centennial #NR Part of the "Next 25" Nationally (2013 # 27, # 6 in California)

Pool A looks like Dave White wanted to send a message to Barnes over at Los Al.

HTL, I'd guess that no Poly is part because it's the new offense and part because the new staff might not have realized the exposure/competition that the Edison tournament has become, arguably one of the best 7-on-7 competitions in the nation (or maybe they did and that's why the no show... which is why I assume MV is taking a pass this year).

What other notable teams are absent from this year's EPT, (Servite, OLu, JSerra, Poly, San Clemente, Chaminade, St. Bonnaventure, Corona Santiago, Norco, Oaks Christian, etc.) that you think should have been in? And who would you have dropped out?

Other than the 2 obvious choices of MV and MD I think the competition looks very solid. Hopefully Los Al can win Pool A and rub it in Edisons nose.

Anyone want to make some early predictions?

MD's quarterback situation is extremely unsettled at this point. And while this tournament might present an opportunity for one of the several kids vying for the position to make a statement, I will venture a guess the mutable nature of that competition will negatively impact MD's chances at advancing very far next Saturday.

Anyone care to put their prognostication skills to the test ? Or rather, who wants to go on record with their picks/guesses for how the tournament is going to go.

Anyone planning on going to the tournament please post your observations (and extrapolations of what this tournament means for the upcoming season) so that those of us unable to attend can hear how these top teams in SoCal are going to be.

I think that with this type of talent top to bottom anyone can win it. Too many teams can beat too many other teams to try and truly predict anything other than the fact that it should be a great tournament and I will be there.

MV has their own tournament this weekend. It is not near a prestigious of course as the Battle at the Beach, but that is where the MV team will be.
some of the teams that will be there are Palos Verdes, Crenshaw, Villa Park, La Serna, Fountain Valley, San Marcos, Chino Hills, Schuur, RBV, Aliso Viejo , Redondo, South Hills, Trabuco Hills.

On thing to consider is whether or not Rosen will even play.

He will be at The Opening/Elite 11 all week and I'm not even sure when he arrives back. Either way even if he does that means no practice all week and after having thrown over a 1000 balls during the week at the Elite 11, I would hope the Bosco coaches don't want him to take every rep on Saturday. The backup is decent so I would hope they just give him the majority of the reps.
