I was just glad Norco got a W...lol...PAC5 is no joke...I think playing Bosco really opened up the coaches and players eyes as to what they need to do to compete....I`ve seen the changes in the program so far and i`m pretty excited for this year...it seems the team has really bought into what the coaches are doing....

I've been trying to put Servites schedule, which is mentioned in the opening post, into its correct order. There is contradictory information out there however. What I have so far is this:

Week 0 08/28 Fountain Valley @ Servite
Week 1 09/04 Servite @ Bishop Amat
Week 2 09/11 ?
Week 3 09/18 Servite @ Edison
Week 4 09/25 ?
Week 5 10/02 ?
Week 6 10/09 J Serra @ Servite
Week 7 10/16 Orange Lu @ Servite
Week 8 10/23 Servite @ Mater Dei
Week 9 10/30 SMCHS @ Servite
Week 10 11/6 Servite @ S J Bosco

The contradiction, is in the fact that Bishop Gorman and DLS are both listing us for week 4 (both are supposedly road games). The bye week is in there somewhere also.

Heard Servite is ready to ink new deal with under armour!
Finally some style to the traditional jerseys. (I hope)

Okay...So MaxPreps is now showing that either DLS posters were wrong about playing Servite in week #4, or the game has been moved from week #4 to Week #2. Bishop Gorman's week #5 is really week #4 in California. This now makes sense. (So it's probably wrong )
Week 0 08/28 Fountain Valley @ Servite
Week 1 09/04 Servite @ Bishop Amat
Week 2 09/11 Servite @ De La Salle
Week 3 09/18 Servite @ Edison
Week 4 09/25 Servite @ Bishop Gorman
Week 5 10/02 Bye
Week 6 10/09 J Serra @ Servite
Week 7 10/16 Orange Lu @ Servite
Week 8 10/23 Servite @ Mater Dei
Week 9 10/30 SMCHS @ Servite
Week 10 11/6 Servite @ S J Bosco
I'd wait for something more official before making any travel plans.

This looks correct. The only issue I have with this schedule is that it is too darn eeeeeeasy. Filled with cupcakes top to bottom.

Servite scheduled four consecutive away games in a row? Sort of unusual not to have
a home game for basically a month in a HSFB season, no?

Yes, it's unusual for a school to have only four home games. Why is Servite traveling to De La Salle two years in a row?

The pre-season is brutal but I like how Servite's Trinity League schedule plays out. The south county teams have to travel up to Cerritos, which means Santa Margarita will have more cheerleaders than fans at the game. Same with Jserra, but they are excused because they've only been around a few years. Mater Dei, if its at Angel Stadium, is like a home game for both teams. The only concerning match-up/location is Bosco, but at least we get to eat some good food and so long as Bosco's benches don't collapse again, the games at Bosco are always fun.

It doesn't matter how many fans show up, it only matters how many football players show up. The concern is justified............Luca

Schedule has been confirmed. De la Salle on 9/11 and Bishop Gorman on 9/25. Both games on the road due to Servite wanting to push the Bishop Gorman game back to late September versus playing Gorman in week 1 (smart move). Because of that, De la Salle needed to be rescheduled and De la Salle only had a home game available. Next year Servite will host both teams. Everything else on the above schedule is correct.

Wow, the new coach needs to get up to speed quick. Thrown into the fire is an understatement. At the same time if Servite could pull off some upsets and make the playoffs it would help there program for years to come and solidify the new coach. I've said it before a bad Servite FB team does not help the other teams in the TL if we want to be considered one of the top leagues in the nation.

Question for Servite posters who are in the know. There has been so much discussion about Servite coaches and administration over the years. At least half of the opinions regarding the difficult years in football place blame on administration. There has been a recent coaching change. Has there been a change in administration?

SInce 1980 Servite trails MD 5-4 in D1 CIF Championships.

When Servite peaks - it tends to win big, when it falls, it tends to fall a little further than MD.

The program will lift again. Success is usually tied to the momentum of stringing a few really good classes together. The coaching and the administration commentary tends to be overblown.

Admin is the same. By all accounts, they made a good hire so give them a break. Now give the coach time to build his program. Wins and losses won't be a good indicator this year due to the difficult schedule. How the team plays this season will be more indicative of whether the Coach can build a winner there. 4-6 with quality football would be a successful first year so long as 2 of those wins come in trinity league.

What two Trinity league teams do you envision Servite beating?

Its too early to say for certain. What I said was that if they manage to get 2 Trinity league wins, that would be a good season. For those that have been around a while, the Trinity League is wild. Last year I thought all of the teams were beatable if the opposition played well. Servite lost in close contests to both MD and SM last year so it wasn't as though they were blown away in all the Trinity League games.

The new coaching staff will be a huge factor.

I think Servite has a running shot at SMCHS, JSerra and OLu. MD and Bosco are probably out of reach.

I would add Mater Dei. The Monarchs squeaked by last year and lost most of that vaunted defense. Each year is different and I expect them to be good but certainly not a shoe in to beat Servite (or anyone else in the league for that matter). If Bosco gets decent QB play, then they are the favorites. If not, its wide open.
