Not sure about this but Servite has not missed a beat with running the ball. Portis went for 192 last night.

Let me be a bit more critical of Servite -- I thought they played inspired but the play had a number of key mistakes -- the corners got chewed up and spit out last night as Crespi's WR completed the long ball twice & we lost the ball near the 10 on a fumble -- there was very little pressure against Crespi's #3 -- he had all day to throw.

Well I was not at the game, but spoke to many people who were and this was a game Servite should have won, and Crespi is no slouch. I saw these two play last year at the HDC and was able to see Crespi's game vs. Birmingham last week, and for Servite to lose by one to a good team shows that Servite will be tough this year. Look for the Friars to move to #2 in the county

I am not sure but I think as a rule if you lose a game you can't move up after a loss? Mater Dei and Servite will move down... Mission Viejo is number #1 with Edison #2.

Los Al #3. You may not be able to move up but sometimes you won't move down. I think one of the times MV lost to DLS they didn't move down.

Loyola (Serra League) plays DLS tonight. If they happen to win, that would make the Serra League the top in the State.

Don't think so. Unimpressive in win over depleted Mayfair, and last night they beat Fremont, a team with a rating of only 6, whose only win was by 2 pts. over a team with a negative rating. I'd go with:

1. MV
2. Edison
3. Servite *
4. Mater Dei*
5. Tesoro
6. Orange Lutheran
7. Newport Harbor
8. Los Al
9. Esperanza
10. La Habra

*Head to head Mater Dei still has to be favored, but Servite seems to outperform the Monarchs against the rest of the world the last few years.

Oh don't get me wrong I think Los Al is way overrated but I'm just telling you what the OCV top ten will be.

You may be right.

Congratulations on O Lu's win over Tustin. It may not have been pretty, but revenge is sweet, isn't it?

Yeah, I think it's a bit ironic that the fans (including me) are so critical of a 10-0 win, when my senior class would have killed to get a 10-0 win over Tustin.

It reminds me a lot of out win over Corona Santiago, last year. I wanted it to be a rout, but in the end, a 10 point win was good enough to make me feel better.

p.s. I can't stop looking at that video on your posts, as painful as it is to watch. (Kind of like when Joe Theismann's leg snapped like a twig on Monday Night Football). They showed that video over and over on tv, and each time I said, "I can't watch, I can't watch." ...and each time, I did watch. I've tried to put myself in your video guy's place, to see what I would have done to protect myself, and it appears that as soon as his foot missed he was SOL. I can't see what he could have done.

Well R-Dub,

It appears that Servite is clearly the Trinity League Favorite, with Bosco and OLU battling for 2nd. The winner of the MD - RSM contest will possibly go in as the TL #4.

LH...

I'll tell you what he should have done...not tried the stunt in the first place. The internet is loaded with homemade videos of knuckleheads destroying their faces, limbs and asses attempting some moronic trick. It is Darwin's Law winnowing the human race through natural selection. Something has to prevent the genes of these idiots from being passed on. I know that many of these recorded accidents result in huge trauma and financial loss, as well as the pain for the kid and his family.

But what the hell...that's how many have to learn, I guess. How about a once-a-week class in school showing these stupidities to the students so they can learn the realities of attempting such stunts?

You are on crack my friend.

1) SJB (4-1) #1 Seed
1) MD (4-1) #2 Seed
2) OL (3-2) #3 Seed
2) Servite (2-3) At Large
3) SM (2-3)
4) JSerra (0-5)

Put that in your pipe and smoke it my friend!

outta towner picks Servite to win Trinity

They were clearly stronger than Crespi last night, so unless it turns out that the Celts aren't that good this year (a possibility), Servite is the team to beat in Trinity. They are big, strong, fast, and really well conditioned. And they can hit.

Troy's Boys go to the Pac 5 finals.

hurl - I was ok with you going for it - yes, free pass ok with me - if you saw that game you'd have said "how'd I lose this lock?"

really, I was a bummed on a victory as it's possible to be - games usually are won and lost in the trenches - last night was the exception

Two great schools. Somebody had to lose. It's what makes the game so great. Perhaps these guys will see each other again.
