Can we please stop this kind of uninformed second-guessing? In early spring, Tesoro backed out of playing Mater Dei in Week 1. That left the Monarchs in a quandary because most schools already had their dance cards filled. A game with Saguaro was close, but then it fell through. Bishop Gorman was close, but fell through. Vista Murrieta was close to signing, but then cooled off. So did Narbonne.

Mayfair was originally scheduled to play St. John Bosco. However, when Bosco got the opportunity to play St. Xavier, they graciously asked Mayfair if they would play Mater Dei instead, and Mayfair graciously accepted. That’s all there is to it. It was either Mayfair or a nine-game schedule. No sinister schemes to pad a schedule with an easy win, or to avoid tough teams. Sometimes you just have to dance with the ugly girl at the prom because all the pretty ones are taken.

Loyola over SM - Close game as SM plays better than last week. Plus MV is VERY good and will boat race many teams this year so I'm cutting SM a little slack.
OLU over Crepsi - Olu bounces back to win a win a close game
JSerra over Alemeny - another good game
Servite over Amat - closer than the MD game but Servite still wins fairly comfortably
Bosco over LaMirada - Easily. But make no mistake, LaMirada is no cupcake (just ask OLU!) and may win their division. Unfortunately for them, Bosco (and MD) play at a different level.
MD over Mayfair - MD would be silly to play any key players after they are up by 4 TDs in the 2nd quarter. Why risk an injury when you would easily win with your second string?

Loyola over SM - - SM will get better but will not be Loyola this week. If they played in the Playoffs I believe SM wil be better then

OLU over Crepsi - Olu laid an egg but will bounce back this week
JSerra over Alemeny - J Serra will surprise Bishop Alemany
Servite over Amat - Amat will play better but will not match Servite particularly at home
Bosco over LaMirada - LM will make it a game in first half but Bosco pulls away
MD over Mayfair - MD Over and under on TD passes is 5 though they may want to work the running game a bit more

MD No contest
Bosco It might be worse than last year.
Servite BA looked bad last week
OLu In a close low scoring game. OLu offense is not good at this point. Although they do get 2 OL back this week.
Loyola Could be a long season for SM. Same could be said for OLu
Alemany Hope I'm wrong...

Easy games
Md over Mayfair
Bosco over la Mirada

Should be wins
Servite over Amat

To hard to tell this early in year.
Loyola over sm. Both look bad. Sm offense is bad, bad.
Crespi over olu. Crespi is better this year and olu offense is bad, bad.
Jserra over alemany. Hartigan will out coach a far superior alemany team.

If I go 4-2 I will be happy.

One of the few times when four of the games are going to be toss ups. Should be an interesting night.

Servite is a train wreck in the first half. Absolutely no running game and haphazard passing game.

7-3 Amat at the half

Man, Bosco is really overrated, or they're trying not to show their cards before next week. They look horrible. Passing game is pretty weak.
