LA is probably 35 better than FV but who knows how far they may push it... so I’ll go FV for the record.
Let me add, so hard to red HSF as these guys r overwhelmed or something... I see, we all see crazy calls every game. This is not the NFL. CDM had 3 unsportsmanlike calls that didn’t need to be called and those 15 yarders at critical points change games. Period.
On any called back long plays or TD's, I only saw one where Edison HC was upset, the others were in front of the Edison sideline and the coaches did not say a much. CDM talks a lot, your free safety would not shut up all night.
He was told several times by the back judge to stop. The penalties should have started sooner and their would have been less. I don't have a dog in the fight so I do not think I am biased.
CDM had a chance to put the error prone Chargers away and did not finish. I have never seen Edison make so many blunders. I am sure the rest of the league wont see that same Edison team last night. Edison is about 14 points worse than last year team. CDM had a solid game plan, they knew Edison was going to take away their studs to a certain degree and went to the other WRs, who dropped three big passes last night, score could have been 28-7 easily at the end of the half. CDM knew Edison backers liked to flow hard to the ball and ran a couple cut backs plays for big yards. Once Edison's backers stop flowing so hard CDM struggled to run the ball in the second half. Edison D played well in the second half.
On offense Coach Brady better sit down and re-think his plan. He needs to run the ball and only decided to do so late in the third setting up his second half score and would have had another if not for errors. Why anyone would not attempt to attack the undersized CDM d line amazed me. Edison has some very big backs. Edison QB was struggling, CDM was ready for him to scramble and their linemen can move. They stayed in his face, forcing tough throws. Why Edison kept going deep? We never saw Wildcat out of Edison who the week before did well against Tesoro. Edison staff need to re-group.
Los Al is clearly the best team in the league, but as we saw last night you never know what 16 years olds are going to do...
Given HB runs the ball well, they might have a little better chance against CDM than I thought.
Playing in the same venue tonight, so there's always the chance the ghost of Cap Sheue reaches up to strip the ball away from an unsuspecting player.TheFan wrote:Bick any way you can get LA to lay the ball on the ground tonight as much as Edison did ? 35 point favorites, yikes
Without bagging on my arch rival, the are not likely to win a Sunset game but then again watching FV anything is possible. Dod HB really lose their QB?
Los Al 5-0
HB or FV 2-3 or 1-4
FV got the short end of the scheduling stick with LA then Cdm to start league. They will be blown out two weeks in a row hopefully they can keep their heads up and not let it effect their other three league games.
HB struggled with a bad NH team.
Cdm may give Los Al a game but it appears Los Al is better.
NH leading passer 8-18 74 yds 3 INT
Starting TE broke his foot and a starting d lineman ejected for fighting and will miss the next blowout.
Gonna be a long (5) weeks in the Sunset League.
From what I'm reading here, it seems CDM is the most talented team. Los Al is pretty undersized, and doesn't have nearly the D1 offers CDM has. They're hard working, well-coached kids that buy in for the most part. I'm looking forward to seeing how the team continues to develop and what having all the starters on the OL looks like. In the meantime, that depth you mentioned is getting lots of reps with the starters out.
On the D, the Griffins will be up against it v those offensive weapons of CDM. Hopefully they'll be able to slow them down a bit.
