Is is possible that the Negro brother rumored to be interested in the Newport Harbor is Jake rather than Jason?

No possibility with Jake. There was some communication btwn Harbor and Negro earlier this offseason but most thought Brinkley would go one more year. The timing isn't right for Jason to leave Bosco. Meyer is probably in good shape to get the job.

Meyer going Harbor would be like Sarkisian or Kiffin going to UCLA.... :-k

This is a historic time for Orange County high school football. In the last two years, we've lost John Barnes, Mike Marrujo, Jim Hartigan, Dave White, Bob Johnson, and now Jeff Brinkley. That's over 195 years of head coaching excellence, with over 1,600 wins under their belts. I don't think the county has ever seen anything like it in one two-year period.

I would love to see a round table forum with these guys hosted by maybe OCVarsity and to hear their respected perspectives on high school sport. Bet we could all learn alot.

I agree the timing is not right for Jason to leave Bosco, although I certainly think he might go back to public at some point in the future. That leaves Meyer as a very strong candidate. Battle of the Bay would certainly get a lot more interesting with Meyer at Harbor and O'Shea at CDM.

Wouldn't be surprised if several other high profile names throw their names in the hat. Good pay, nice facilities, strong history. Will be interesting to see which candidates they bring in.
