OC Varsity Pre-Season Top 10
Re: OC Varsity Pre-Season Top 10
Servite is too high. They are not talented and should be below San Clemente and perhaps even CDM but definitely SC.

FJ...I agree as far as talent goes. Norco had more talent and speed...but you can`t judge heart & perseverance. That alone is a scary thing...

Re: OC Varsity Pre-Season Top 10
The win over Poly doesn't make Los Al the new favorite to win the Sunset by any stretch. Both CDM and Edison would handle them, and Serra will clock them on Friday.
Re: OC Varsity Pre-Season Top 10
So how far has LBP fallen @Bick? CDM ran all over LBP in 7V7 but they did that to JS as well and look how that played out.., the one thing I noticed on the field at the 7v7 was a lack of discipline on the LBP side.

Think JSerra game is at Moorpark HS, not Moorpark College. You may want to reconfirm.

By the way JSERRA made the TOP 100 on this list coming in a #99

Re: OC Varsity Pre-Season Top 10
They are more disciplined and professional than in years past. I think Coach Barbee is changing the culture there, and it shows. Long term, it's the right path, and builds a solid foundation. They have a promising young QB that should thrive when the pieces fit around him. Hopefully the Poly faithful will stay supportive. Polyrules could probably speak into this better than me.SK80 wrote:So how far has LBP fallen @Bick? That said, this year's poly team would be hard pressed to make the D4 semis.

Re: OC Varsity Pre-Season Top 10
Going off JSerra's performance against Bosco I'd have to rate them 2nd over MV...their game later this month against MD will show if they are the real deal or that was just an off night for the Braves. BTW the Lions face the Monarchs at home the week after MD plays Bosco, so that has the potential of being a major trap game...

Re: OC Varsity Pre-Season Top 10
Villa Park moving up the ranks. From number 10, to number 5 in the county.
Ancich has beat Servite and played MV fairly close. Should VP be moved up a division next year?

Re: OC Varsity Pre-Season Top 10
Should? They most certainly will. In now what looks to be a much deeper D4 VP and CDM could likely face each other. I'm not the number cruncher Bick is on this but neither will likely stay in D4. D3 for sure and if they win CIF maybe higher. Cajon won D4 last year and was moved to top spot in D3 just out of D2.

Re: OC Varsity Pre-Season Top 10
Not much chance at all that either VP or CDM stay in D4 considering the Crestview is the #12 league in the section. Compare that to the PCL that is #52 that was keeping CDM lower than they should be. Considering their power ratings would be top 5 in D2, both really belong in D2, and will likely be there in a couple years, if not next year.
Re: OC Varsity Pre-Season Top 10
a lot could happen either way, win or lose league and win or an early exit in CIF.

Re: OC Varsity Pre-Season Top 10

So MD and Bosco know the Lions are legit, should be above MV unless Olu beats the Lions.
MD coaching will have them prepared, as they know all to well the Lions can ball...just don't see it as a trap game rather an...Oh ship! These guys are legit! Prep for battle in the Trinity league...arguably the best league in the country today...'It's the Trinity League, baby!' No good coach would look past Jserra or team of elite athletes who know who's who, in the Zoo!
snip:
Best Answer: A "Trap Game" is a game that is played before or after a tough or rival opponent. Teams have a tendency to look past an opponent preparing for the following week's game, or have a letdown after beating a tough or rival opponent.
What is a trap game?

Re: OC Varsity Pre-Season Top 10
Who knew that Villa Park would be so dominant? VP destroyed another team Thursday night beating El Dorado in easy fashion. With VP's head coach (Ancich) resembling LA Rams young Phenom coach (Sean Mcvay), his team is resembling the Rams too. With some off season pickups from Mater Dei and La Habra, along with talent that was already there, VP has beat Trinity Servite and played MV very close.
Invision this OC team winning D-4 and moving up possibly more to D-2? Is it possible? VP has gone from number 10 in Orange County to number 5.
