Where u been?
Apparently not around long enough to think that this freakshow resembles High School football.

Didn't MD learn from the Rancho Cuc debacle? They are quickly becoming a punchline for what's wrong with HS Football.

Md just got the self proclaimed best player in PA. Kid is a freakin stud per his hudl highlites.
As usual, Mater Dei gets a transfer and everyone overreacts with hyperbole and indignation.

Brinkley is a 2-star kid (Rivals and 247Sports) with 12 scholarship offers, all from second-tier schools. The scouting bureaus have him ranked somewhere between #35 and #45 among kids in Pennsylvania, which is not exactly Texas or Florida when it comes to football talent.

I'm searching for him but can't seem to find him on 247. What's this kid's first name?

Shuayb "Shoes" Brinkley, 2021 Athlete, played RB/S - from Northeast HS Philadelphia. His composite ranking has him at 3 Star - 5-9 183. Has multiple mid-major offers. His film is better than his ranking. He's a "Football Player" and equally talented on both sides of the ball. But mostly likely he will be playing Safety. He only ran for 358 yards, 7.0 avg, 4 TDS, 12 rec 181 yds, 3 TDs, on defense had 5 Ints. Those are hardly big offensive numbers, but like I said his film is more impressive than stats and rankings..

He'll work online until football season, fly out for a couple of months, then head back to Philly after the seasons over. He'll get some better offers and MD will get a couple of months of a good football player.

That seems like a fair deal for both sides.

I know it's not possible for anyone to ever have any correct information on here, so let me help out. This kid came out here with the idea of going to Calabassas but got here and found out everyone was leaving the program. Kid came on his own just like the QB from San Diego that will never play or the JV QB from Folsom that will never play. I know it's hard to understand when you are not part of a school that people actually want to go to and misguided as they may be they think coming to MD will help them have a better chance to get a scholarship which in some cases it does in most cases it does not. When potential transfer kids approach coaches they are told not to come if they will never play, when they go directly to the school the school does not turn anyone away for athletic reasons it's all academics and discipline, if you have no issues in that department you are welcomed. I'm sure the shoes kid will play will he be a big time game changer? not likely.... he probably should have gone to St. Bernards and got paid.

I agree with what you said but question this. You may be right but who's to say that the QB transfers will never play? It is not like MD has a proven stud QB ready to take over as the heir apparent. Given the current QBs on the roster that I am aware of there should be an interesting competition over the Summer.
If you are so certain that these 2 transfer QBs will not play, please tell us who is better and what you base that judgement upon.

Inside info that "the big one" is still to come, or wishful thinking?

The kid flew all the way across the country to go to Calabassas? On his own? But when Calabassas didn't work out, did he go home? No.

He's not from Rancho Cuc or Cathedral. It's Philadelphia, mind you.

Then appeared at MD possibly for "academics and discipline." The self-proclaimed best player in PA?

You are right, it's hard to understand. Nearly impossible actually.

I guess if he bragged he was the best player in the world that would make it even harder to understand?

Does this alter things? As USC (GHarrell) now has entered the Quinn Ewers Sweepstakes? Perhaps he's now a MD QB candidate.

Now that the football season is highly doubtful, wondering if “Zapatos” will still be coming to MD from Philly seeing as a great academic experience is his primary motivation.

Isn;t he already attending MD?? The previous news was that he had registered and so he is
doing what other MD students are doing and that is taking the classes online.

Saw Ewers play live last fall. The real deal. I shudder at how good he would be with MD's receivers (although his situation at Carroll is solid and I don't see a need for him to transfer to MD)
