He could have gone Power 5 but chose not to. Name me a starter on this year’s team that will not be a power 5 player or at least hold power 5 offers.

But he has ZERO Power 5 offers. I think he's absolutely a Power 5 kid though, but as of right now, none have offered.

What offer does Alford have? Rutgers? So technically a Power 5 but one of the worst in the Power 5. Gatto has Maryland. Matthew Jordan doesnt have one. Che Womack doesnt even have an offer. Ed Riley has none.

There are guys with no Power 5 offers who start.

Last year Cole Aubrey had no Power 5 offers and he broke the Bosco sack record. Jake Bailey.

For Ma’a’s sake, it’s a good thing he switched from #11 to #13 during his 6 month stay at IMG.

SJB has already given #11 to one of its 6 other linebacker transfers from this offseason.

I'm sure the kid and his parents will be happy to hear a Bosco insider's opinion of his skill level. LOL

Curious on what Bosco four-year player's parents think of the boat load of players that transfer in every season, many as seniors? They regularly have 75+ players on freshman and sometimes JV so there are a lot of players in the program that have put in their time only to see the flavor of the summer transfer in every year. At what point does this cause an exodus out of the program? Or does this just happen and we don't hear about it?

the ones that can handle the competition, stay. And those usually are the good ones.

Those that aren't good usually leave.

Alot leave and we just don't hear about them.

kids do leave for multiple reasons. It's a private school with no backing (ie diocese, etc..). If kids leave they need to fill in those seats (aka operating budget). I know bosco has had their fair share of transfers but most of these transfers are chasing scholarships and think bosco gives them the best shot. But honestly I see only 3 maybe 4 starting this year with another 5 or so spot/roll players.

So where did Moses Sepulona from Mater Dei end up transferring too? He's a great pick up for any school...

His Twitter still shows MD. I’m not doubting this but I have not seen anything from him personally saying he left MD. Maybe I missed it. Yesterday was the first day of camp so was he definitely not there? If he wasn’t then that would be confirmation.
I agree he would be a great addition to any team. He has very good instincts.

Mark Ard Jr. left SJB to go back to SM. If he transferred after last season but didnt play for SJB, does he have to sit out the five games?

I dont think it matters if he played in a game or not at all. He is still a transfer from one school to another. I could be wrong but that is what I believe is correct. I will get a clear answer next week unless someone here knows for sure what the rule is.

Only player I know who missed a semester at another school but didn’t play at his other school didn’t have to sit out.

He played football in 2018 at sm. Finished the season. So he is eligible to play football in 19 at sm, no matter where he went to school in the spring. No sit out period. It's based on sport and season. It's why he went back to sm even though he didnt want to. It's the only place he could go to and be eligible right away.
