So we have all talked about the slapdicks to the nerds and most want to claim the nerds as being more spot on and the best gauge to go by. Do ya'll stand by that now?
Looking at everything now I see maybe the case from Maxpreps. The Texas team probably did have a better or tougher playoff bracket. I suppose now you can say that all the So Cal talent pooled together on 1 or 2 teams leaves the rest too weak to boost your SOS and get "better" wins. Kinda ironic huh.
My other take is a Loss is a Loss. And that loss was a bad one. Had MD won the rematch by a big os as big a margin in the rematch maybe they would have had a better outcome here in the polling.
Here is how the final ranks for CALIFORNIA STATE came out according to MAXPREPS,
The CIF SS comes in with 16 entries of the 25, 5 from Orange County w/ 3 of them privates and two publics.
If This season, North Shore Played IMG, Bosco 2x, Centennial, Mission Viejo, Gorman, J serra what would their record be. If anyone says they would be 16-0 they should lose their credentials!
I actually bet hardly anyone would claim that they would be 16-0 with that schedule.
MD is a much more complete team position by position than North Shore. That is the biggest advantage of the super power privates. They have no weakness at any position. North Shore has a few studs but also has some glaring weaknesses at some positions. Much more difficult for publics to fill a weak position in the offseason like a private can.
Bottom Line is MD is a better team than North Shore by 17-21 pts, but Texas Champions deserve some national recognition.
Well Done both Schools.
pretty darn impressive...,
Mater Dei’s Bru McCoy named national football player of the year by MaxPreps https://www.ocregister.com/2019/01/02/m ... -ocvarsity

Mater Dei’s Bru McCoy was named the MaxPreps National Player of the Year for the 2018 high school football season on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
In an interview this week with USA Today, he said "I’m going to school to get a degree." McCoy specifically mentioned the USC Marshall Business School and said he plans to pursue business marketing or political science.
As for the football team, "...I think they still have a high ceiling and a lot of room to grow. They got a young team, a young quarterback." Hmm, who could he be referring to?
He also had good things to say about the football program at the University of Texas.
Would love to see him at SC...
"How stupid is our country?"
The lack of objectivity was the only thing that cost MD losing those 3 popularity contests. North Shore would've been fortunate to make it IN to the SS D1 semis, let alone beat anyone.
“Bru, you’re still considering Texas, right?”
“Yeah, and Saddleback College is in there too”
Yes please post that picture..also please post the other 5 polls that has MD ranked #1 in and while you are at it someone post a picture of Bosco's QB Dad as his hate on other kids is most likely the karma for his son and Bosco losing the CIF Championship this year.Exocet 98 wrote:Please post a pic of the md rb thug cowardly act of spitting in the face of the dls player after the whistle. 3 stripes, pride, poise and courage!! LOL!! KARMA for that act cost md losing 3 polls.
...oh and another thing, the Northshore players hanging out with the MD players in Florida at the Under Armour All American game have admitted that their team would have had NO chance against the MD squad this year, but what do they know.
Best part about this whole Max Preps deal is it is clear there is no need to play a National schedule as an undefeated season is more important in the rankings, so there is no need for all the headache to play those big time games anymore especially if you are in the Trinity league, just go undefeated whoever you are and you are good. Bring on the cupcakes...
Exactly! One of the most gratifying things about MD beating Bosco was shutting up that obnoxious ‘Big Dave’ Uiagalelei. It was so exhausting listening to him pimp his son and all the time. DJ is an unbelievable talent but I just wish his dad would take a back seat instead of living vicariously through DJ and rubbing everybody else the wrong way.OCurbanlegend wrote:and while you are at it someone post a picture of Bosco's QB Dad as his hate on other kids is most likely the karma for his son and Bosco losing the CIF Championship this year.
Wait, you mean DJ’s daddy was hating on MD and promoting his firstborn after Bosco took the L in the CIF game?? Nooooo ...OutOfState wrote: Exactly! “As long as we win where it matters most (individual awards)”
“On to next year ... Guys has already checked in at Bosco”
Keep trolling Big Dave ...
BoscoBrave I guess I hit a nerve.BoscoBrave wrote:Outofstate, you should speak to Big Dave in person then if you want to talk **** about him. He would definitely make time to handle you. Nothing worse than someone hiding behind a keyboard and talking crap about someone who is also talking crap. What a joke.
The guy is an embrassment and still bitter that his beloved son and Bosco, who were the better team by the way, got beat by MD when it mattered most. Now he is already talking crap about next year which is hilarious. And he is saying MD shouldn’t be number 1 when they were 2nd in their league. I’m sure that the MD people would much rather be CIF and state champs while letting Bosco relish their league championship this year. The ‘joke’ is on him.
Bosco played a tough national schedule last year and failed to deliver the goods, so this year they went with the cupcake preseason (i.e. the "Texas formula") and it worked like a charm. They were the undefeated consensus #1 team in the country going into the CIF Final...
And then, after all the bragging and hype, in the biggest game of BIGDAVE's life with the whole HSFB world watching, his son goes 6 for 19 with 1 TD (on a blown coverage) and 2 INTs for a QB rating of 31.6(?!)...poof
Unduanted, Bitterman then shows up at the MD-DLS game, openly roots for the Spartans and looks on helplessly as MD wins it all...
Poor BIGDAVE. That's more embarrassment than any man should have to bear...
"How stupid is our country?"
You are aware that NS finished 8th!!! in one of them and 3rd in another, don't you?
