Not much to learn about MV from either game. St Mary's is 1-2, their one victory coming against 0-4 Central Catholic of Modesto. They've averaged 35 points a game while giving up 35 points a game ( on average ). Needless to say, they haven't seen a defense as good as MV, so you know how that'll turn out. Upland is 3-1 with wins against teams with a combined 3-9 record and a loss to La Habra, who MV already beat.

Don't see MV being challenged until the playoffs.

My post was response to HTL ? Not reference to challenging games. Your point on being challenged does not take into consideration Tesoro or San Clemente. Tesoro Sr.’s destroyed MV as Freshmen and were 10/0, MV jr’s went 10/0 as Freshmen, huge Rivalry game. Also San Clemente who beat MV last year...so you might want to recalculate your assumptions. Now that said Costelli is learning, but still not at full potential. Run game good, O-line very capable and D is legit with big improvements in the secondary, they are figuring it out. St.Marys will be as challenging as they were when MD dropped a 50 burger on them two years ago and MV destroyed Upland last year and should again this year, and MV has upland at home. So agree with you on those two, but see challenges in league, we’ll see...I do hope...you are correct but given the nuts and bolts at least two challenges in league...

this article believes, that Bosco has the most explosive WR receiving core group in the country as of now, but I don't see them getting their revenge on MD, MD is too good, too talented this season.

anything posted by USA Today or ESPN needs to be taken with a grain of salt when it comes to HS Football coverage and ratings.

I don't know if this is the right thread to post it in, but one of MD's Heisman Trophy winning Alumnus, John Huarte, it caught my attention on the best HS QB's to ever come out of the O.C., really, John Huarte's grandsons go to Servite, or went to Servite?

Just asking, because if it is true, that is a shock, I assume that causes some friction in their family.

John Huarte has a grandson attending Mater Dei. I believe he is either a sophomore or a junior in
class standing.

PTG-
MV
SC
TESORO
For Costelli's sake, # 71 left tackle on O is a liability to his back side.
Once MV gets to playoffs, im sure it will all be dialed in.
MD
BOSCO

Mater Dei QB, de commits to USC and is headed to Alabama, to carry on the 1 & 2 rivalry vs Bosco qb DJ @ Clemson.
National Championship??
A big congrats to Narbonne QB Jake Garcia, who has commited to USC. The gimmick offense has landed a good one. Jake is mobile, can stand tall in the pocket, and throws the short and deep ball good. Narbonne just knocked off rival SERRA, who previously beat Calabasas. Garcia is a whittier kid, who probably should be at La Serna high school, but went to LB POLY, then went on to Narbonne. Wishing him and his family much success! Fight on kid! :thumbsup:
