yes it is hard to replace Harper, that's why I qualified my statement "compared to last few seasons"

Of course they are using this trip as an educational experience as well. Every high school team does sightseeing when they take a rare trip like this.

I get that, but this will be many players debut in front of the Eastern media, scouts and fans, and vice-versa. That's a big difference, IMHO. It's bound to be a zoo like they haven't seen yet...hope they take care of business.

Bosco did just fine in Hawaii. I dont believe in the distractions aspect for programs like Bosco and MD. The coaches do a great job keeping the kids in check.

Any game? I disagree. Unlike most teams, this MD squad could beat half the teams on their sched in their sleep. It's the other half I'm talking about...

The Bosco staff and some players have travel experience, in 2017 they flew cross-country twice to play nationally ranked teams. I can't remember the last time (if ever) the Monarchs traveled this far to a game.

My fretting aside, if they handle it well it could very well be a blowout...if

The spread is 27 points. I think they're gonna be ok.

You're probably right, but last year the first Bosco game was probably a 'pickem and they lost by 23...

Rollo answered my question...the last time MD flew to a game was 1991 against Iolani (HI). FWIW they won the game and went on to win their first CIF title since 1965

Mater Dei doesn't start a SINGLE white player on their offense for the very first time in school history.

St John's playing tough as expected

Lack of an MD running threat is causing problems, Young has time but receivers can't get open

Anybody know what happened to MD's kicker?

21-20 SJs at the half...wouldn't want to be in the MD locker room right now

Bryce took a huge hit. Looks like helmet flew off and then his forehead smacked the turf. Got lucky he wasn't seriously hurt
