"San Clemente forfeited all of its games because the ineligible player participated in all of its games..."
Interesting Rancho Verde (SC's last victim) fans are twitterbombing that they should be able to play Chaminade this week because this was known before the game was played...it won't happen but I'd say they have a case
> How is this even remotely possible???

"NO ONE KNEW"?
During the summer 7v7 tournament at HB I heard multiple stories about two SC players, one regarding a transfer the other being a student athlete likely over the age limits set forth by CIF. So with this news today I am not shocked in the least.
Disclaimer: I can not verify anything I heard or overheard at that tourney, simply saying I am not completely shocked reading this story this evening.
Publics trying to keep up with the Jones and stay relevant, tough task.

Why won't it happen? It's happened before. St. Paul clobbered Pioneer HS 44-8 in 1974.
St. Paul had to forfeit for spying on Pioneer's practices.
Pioneer was awarded a 1-0 forfeit win, and advanced to the 2nd round, losing to Newport Harbor 37-0.
Come on CIF...Let RV advance to the semifinals against Chaminade.
Logistics. Chaminade has been told they have the week off, no time to prepare. Likewise for the venue.
BTW...St.Paul feeling they had to spy on Pioneer...LOL

One would think that would preclude you from posting unsubstantiated gossip here, but maybe I'm just old fashioned...

Maybe you have not read nor heard San Clemente Head Coach Jamie Ortiz...?
"Speaking in July at a passing tournament, San Clemente coach Jaime Ortiz said Billoups moved to San Clemente from Long Beach." ~ Coach Ortiz https://www.ocregister.com/2019/11/19/s ... two-rules/
"unsubstantiated gossip" would have precluded any such statement or report we all see now. I simply stated now that this story has legs as they say in the journalism business that I heard the same thing as I was there at that Huntington Beach Tournement.
Had I been on message boards all season passing such "unsubstantiated gossip" your accusation would be valid. My comments here are the first on the subject only after CIF had made its statement, The Orange County Register running it's article which included a statement by the head coach that "transfers" to San Clemente were being discussed at an off season event.
It is knowledge now that San Clemente is filing an appeal. For whatever reason should it be overturned, I could find some solace in the fact that so many student athletes on the SC football team put in so much hard work to get to where they did. Even if it proves true that they did get there with an ineligible player, it doesn't take away from the rest efforts. Tough times at San Clemente.
They will never be #1 in the south coast and arent even top 5 in OC, with their out of area player.
Was it worth it??? SELFISH!!! Alot of these coaches have forgot what coaching kids is all about. Instant gratification, cheat, and win at all costs, even blowing a season for 50 plus kids in your program for ego.
Some coaches go as as far as re tweeting recruiting propaganda, as if they didnt tweet it themselves., clever!
Social media, is a way of illegal recruiting, especially by coaches. Coaches have no right to tell a player to stay off, when they are the worst example for it. Guilty by association?? It will be much easier to shut down a coach or program when they constantly incriminate themselves.
In San Clemente's case, keeping up with the Jones's, and bringing in a kid from Long Beach, just tainted the program, and it may not recover? Just remember, when you wrong loyal people, Karma has a way of coming back and biting you in the ass. Let Verde and Chaminade play, CIF might not have a choice, if they pursue legal actions. This could be the one that puts CIF IN A MUST CRACK DOWN SENARIO.
First Narbonne, now SC. But still the rats run rampant.

I made no "accusation". What I stated was a fact- it is indeed spreading rumors and/or unsubstantiated gossip when you preface with, "I have no idea if this is true, but I heard a story.... (Good word choice, though, "story" sounds much better than "rumor".)
Just because there's an article in the paper TODAY (your link is worthless, BTW, can't read it if you don't pay, but I believe you) that doesn't conveniently rewrite history for you. You yourself admitted you had no idea if it was true at the time you repeated it.
> Hmm what if CIF investigated Bosco and MD I wonder what they would overturn
Hmmm...here's what you don't get they investigate them all the time.
However not so sure they do that to ALL the others constantly breaking the rules. i.e. everyone else.

I can’t imagine cif has the power right now to fine a school and I can’t imagine any schools wanting to put themselves in that type of jeopardy. There are also a lot of schools that run on very tight budgets and getting a big fine would do severe damage to the school
