Like OMG! \:D/ This is now #AchievementCity

Both Duncanville and North Shore are missing their best player so it’s kinda even now.

Hey Omar, is it ok with you that Bosco now claims to be National Champions? Let me know and I'll give everyone the news to proceed.

Yep, I've been maintaining that compilation poll for a few years now.

So now that this decade in the books, let's take stock...there's a national champ (or 2 or 3) every year, but as far as I can tell there were only 3 undefeated unanimous National Champions this decade, the ultimate accomplishment which every truly great team aspires to. Those are the teams us codgers look back on and argue about who, if anyone, could have beaten...

The crème de la crème...anybody name them?

Too easy.

2011 - Don Bosco Prep, 11-0
2016 - Bishop Gorman, 15-0
2017 - Mater Dei, 15-0

And I actually think those were the only three undefeated, unanimous national champions in the last 20 years.

Didn't know about the 20-year thing, that's amazing...musta been one of those DLS teams around Y2K I'm thinking...

DLS was unanimous in 2000 and 2001. However, there were only two national polls that year (USAToday and the National Prep Poll/PrepNation). Massey and CalPreps weren't doing national ratings yet and the National Sports News Service last ranking was in 1999.

Other than the teams you already listed the only other teams in the history of high school football that unanimously won 3+ national polls were DLS (1998) and St. Ignatius (1993).

which was the last team to be unanimous National Champions that did not go undefeated, that had a loss on their season? so yes, it can be concluded that the 2019 Bosco team is obviously more decorated than the 2013 Bosco team, and finished number 1 in more polls than the 2018 MD team did.

Funny how the thread is about Bosco being unanimous champs and all of a sudden Omar decides to turn this into a MD undefeated National Champs thread. :bonk:
