Saving Youth football

Post by hit the lights » Tue Dec 24, 2019 6:57 am

Some say youth football teaches kids about teamwork and how to be a leader. Which may be true, in some cases, but, in alot of cases, it seems to be breeding individualism and selfishness.
I think a few teams and staffs had it right this year, on their approach, and lead to CIF titles.
CDM, and Sunny Hills, preaching all the right things. Offseason, in season, lead by seniors.
Too much is revolving around keeping up with the Jones's, rent a player, easy fix, easy coaching. I mean more than half the time, the rent a players dont even listen to the coach on hand, and do it their own way.
If the LEADER of the operation doesnt lead by example and by actions, not words, then its a trickle down effect. You lose respect, from your staff, your majority of players, and ultimatley end up losing.
Its not how many rings you have won, or win, its the amount of lives you impact in a positive way.
Thats the real bling! :2cents:
