Yeah, it's going to come down to the last week

After tonight:

SJB 7-1
MD 6-1
JS 5-3
SER 2-5
SM 2-6
OLU 1-7

MD plays Bosco and @JSerra next week. I don't get how the Lions played Bosco so close but got doubled up by the Monarchs. Next week will be closer I'm betting...

JSerra beat Bosco. From what I understand they were short some key guys against MD.

That would explain why they won by a point @ SJB and lost by only a bucket at home...if they get those players back they could be tough at home vs. MD next Thursday

In the meantime, all eyes are on the SJB @ MD game on Tuesday...

Martinez of JSerra might be hurt. Hip, hand injuries. He's the one guy they have that can take over games.

They won comfortably vs Servite last night.

Saw an ugly game at MD last night beat SM by only 10, big kid for MD wasn't even dressed or there must of been sick?
MD needs to get better quick to beat Bosco next Tuesday.
I think J Serra big kid has a knee injury???
Martinez was completely taken out of his game when MD won by 40 at MD
MD completely over played him to his right, forced him left and he was done, so much so he "appeared" to quit, not even getting back on defense he was so frustrated.

THE GAME is next Tuesday "if" MD wins they go down and clean up Serra and become League Champs for the what 37th time in Gary's 38 years, NOT BAD for a guy who "can't coach"

think the SM coach should be up for coach of the year. Has made a team lacking in talent competitive by controlling tempo.

Bosco has played even better in the second half of league. They handled JSerra the second time around and look like they’re firing on all cylinders. The cool thing about Bosco’s team this year is they’re 8 deep and all of them can score so doubling one player won’t work.

With that being said I still think the top three teams in the open are at least 10 points better than Bosco or MD.

Waaaay too early to talk about that, even with the quotes...MD will have to play a perfect game to beat Bosco and even if they manage to, the game @JS two nights later would be the perfect letdown-game scenario...

The mirror image of football...interesting, no?

MD only beat Servite by 4? Were they only able to use their off-hand the entire game?

Nice come-from-behind win tonight for the Monarchs

Can't celebrate yet, though, Thursday's game @ JSerra is huge

Once again the guy that can't coach wins another league championship, 37 in 38 years???

You look at those 2 teams side by side and Bosco looks like they run MD out of the gym.Yet with the league championship on the line who showed up and who didn't?

In league you MUST WIN ALL your home games, Bosco didn't and now it comes back to bite them.

This has to be one of MD's weakest team in years, yet the Superior talent comes second, has to be coaching!

McKnight has always had a very good coaching staff. While he probably did a lot of coaching in the past, he doesn’t need to now. The top assistant & heir apparentJason Quinn, is a fantastic coach, he also has had former head coaches like Jerry DeBusk and Bob Serven on his staff. Clay McKnight has been a college assistant & HS Head Coach. The two young coaches currently on his staff are very good & they do a lot of the coaching. Add in Rusty Van Cleave, a former head coach with 2 CIF titles and it would be hard to imagine a more complete group at the high school level.

Hahaha you’re hilarious. Acting like md doesn’t have any talent and Bosco does is pitiful. We split the series, you won league. 👏🏼 MD has a helluva team with size, players and coaching. Get over it.

Get over what? I'm not complaining, I'm happy that Bosco can't go on the road and close out an undisputed league championship.

MD weakest team in years, and Bosco can't close them out, that loss on your own floor was a killer wasn't it???

Oh well maybe in the playoffs or next year.

Let's be real...congratulations on another league title, but that's as far as it goes this year for them

Making the Open Semis where they would likely get flattened by Sierra Canyon or CC is a realistic goal...

Coach McKnight just set two State Records---Number of League Championships and Consecutive
League Championships. The Flu, strep throat that has gone thru the team seems to have abated
and they finally were able to start their usual starters for the Bosco and JSerra games. This
is ABSOLUTELY not one of MD's weakest teams---they had their top 6 players back from last year--
played a difficult schedule--one of the most challenging against teams from all over the nation--
lost some games that they could have won but was in every ball game up to the end---hopefully
they will be at full strength for the playoffs---but the season hasn't been as successful as they
had hoped---but they still won another league championship--there are at least four teams that
will be rated above them in the OPEN division of the playoffs. The Monarchs are always well
coached and when they have time to prepare are always tough.

Sierra Canyon has top talent, but isn't particularly well coached. If MD can make them run 1/2 court sets-MD will beat them.

Is JSerra's Borra out for the season? Did Martinez play in the 2nd JSerra/MD game?

Reminds me of another championship game were the flu decimated a team.
