When I was in high school Loyola was our rival. I wanted to beat them so bad and just when we turned the corner on beating them, the decided to stop playing us. Imagine that? One thing I know if true, no matter how bad or good Bosco was in any year, we didn’t dodge anyone. I wish they would grow a pair again and star playing Bosco. It would be nice to get some good ol fashioned Del Rey League battles going again

Just curious, who were the other "ol fashioned" Del Rey members? Age has me drawing a blank

It absolutely was. It makes BOSCO’s trek to the OC a cake walk.

Does anyone know what MD schedule is for next season? I know Cen10 also heard a rumor about Sierra Canyon but not much else
Sierra Canyon released their schedule and they are not playing MD. JSerra is playing Sierra Canyon.
Other than Cen10 I don’t know who MD has confirmed. Games that have been mentioned as possibilities (I.e. Sierra Canyon, St. Louis Hawaii) have fallen through.

Seeing where they might have to scrap preseason altogether and start the season with league games:

Coach Anthony White @CoachAWhite

What I believe and propose will happen... If no green light by July 1st.

-0 fieldwork until school begins in Fall.
-Cancellation of all Pre-Season and Non-League Games.
-Season starts with League Games.
-Playoffs as normal, Based off League finishes and Cal Prep Rankings.

Season starting with League Games really does sound realistic.

Not if you are in a 4 team league with only 3 league games like the South Coast and Sea View. CIF really screwed that one up by letting Dana out for Football and not bringing in Beckman or someone else. Even then they would only be a 5 team leagues with 4 league games.

Something like this could work...

Everybody starts on August 31. Two weeks of conditioning with no equipment. Two weeks of full pads.

Season starts Week 6, first week of October. Teams that have a bye in league would need to pick up an opponent.

What does Coach White have to do with any of this? I believe we should prepare for the season as though we will have a full season. We owe it to the seniors to work hard in what ever capacity we can to be successful so they can get out of this game the gifts that so many of us have received.

Distance learning can do the job for classroom work, but football is completely different. Just one unknowingly infected kid at one workout can put his entire team at risk.

I feel sorry for the seniors, too. But we owe all the kids a plan that incorporates reality.

At this point, declaring that "we should prepare for the season as though we will have a full season" is just delusional...

I have never heard a coach say I wish we had more spring or summer practice to prepare. I still think there is a chance we are back to a fairly normal existence by August. I could be wrong.

Sure there's a chance, which is why Coach White prefaced his proposal with "If no green light by July 1st". Nothing is decided yet.

I have a very negative view of Coach White so it's hard for me to hear him. That's my problem.

...in today's Register, Gov. Gavin Newsom, said he didn't imagine California would be
holding events with fans by August or September, so; what would all this mean for HS
football - thoughts?

If people who think like that really practice what they preach it's entirely possible that they won't have to contemplate what our world will be like in 6 months because they won't be around
