Will Dana Hills beat Mission???

Postby seeinred » Mon Oct 27, 2008 8:14 am

I think they will. :-k
They have a great QB in Schroeder, and their fast-paced offense wears defenses out!

Yep, I am looking ahead. I think San Clemente will beat Mission, and then Dana will too. Mission will miss the playoffs as the 4th place team in the SCL. :D

The Pac-5 has one At-Large birth. Probably not going to SCL.

Best Dana will see is 4th in SCL. MV & SC fighting for 2nd & 3rd. Dana is not in the same class as MV, Tesoro & SC.

Not in the same class??? Let's examine Dana's 3 losses, shall we?

Dana was tied in a wild shootout with SC 31-31 with a min. left in the 4th. They puked the ball up in the end zone and that's how they lost. They scored more against SC than Tesoro did.

Against NH, they lost because they didn't have a kicker that game. They scored 4 TD's, and Harbor only scored 3 and a FG. Dana missed every extra point and a game winning 34 yd FG with one sec. left. (Most people in the stands thought it looked good.) Final was 25-24 Harbor. Dana brought up their Soph. kicker since, and he hasn't missed.

Against Edison, turnovers killed them. No team is going to survive 5 turnovers. They still scored 20 against Edison in spite of their mistakes. The only team to score more on Edison is Los Al with 23 pts.

Still think Dana isn't in the same class???

If MV--SC and DH all finish at 3-2 in SCL how is tiebreaker determined.

It could come to that if:
MV beats SC,
DH Beats MV,
DH loses to Tesoro,
Each team would be 1-1 vs the other.
Assuming all three MV, SC, and DH beat Capo and Aliso.

Does anyone know?

If that happens, i am glad i dont have to decide. That would be a mess. But Dana will lose to Tesoro & MV.

It would be a coin flip. This happened last year in the Trinity league. Mater Dei beat Servite, Servite beat OLu, OLu beat Mater Dei.

Last year In Trinity that was a coin flip for 1-2-3--but all three still made the playoffs.
This would be a coin flip for 2-3-4, with #4 not making the playoffs? Or would they get an at large bid?

Dana has to score 40 or more to win. Defense gives up plenty of points.

You're getting Richard Brehaut from Los Osos... probably the best QB in Southern California (sorry MD fans)

Duke's new Head Coach was the O-Coordinator for Tennessee during Peyton Manning's time, and then he was the O-Coordinator at Ole Miss during Eli Manning's time. They are having a great year this year. Also, Schroeder is a great student and Duke is one of the best schools.

Saw Dana against Edison and they seem to press and turn the ball over in their spread offense........think you will see the same thing against Mission.

By the way this is Dana's last chance for several years to get to the playoffs, lower levels don't have much.
